Tips For Blogging Every Day For Entire Month

Hello Lovelies,
So I've done it, I managed to blog every day in November! Not only that, but I managed to achieve what I set out to do at the beginning of the year, which is to blog more in 2016 than I did in 2017. Now I know I don't blog a lot, and for some posting 36 times in one year would not be a massive achievement. However for me it is, and I've really enjoyed putting up posts every day this month!
I know a lot of you are probably doing Blogmas, which involves blogging every day in December until Christmas, so I thought I'd share with you some of my tips for successfully blogging daily for an entire month!
What helped me during Blogvember was the fact that I already decided in October that I would be blogging for an entire month, and I had 10 blog posts pre written. That meant when the days in November came along when I couldn't be bothered or I was too busy to blog, it wasn't actually a problem because I could just log onto blogger and hit publish on one of my pre written posts.
Like many people who have a blog, I work full time. This means it's quite difficult for me to take photos, edit them and write posts daily. The way I managed by blogging schedule is by writing up several posts on my days off. I also constantly planned ahead, and had a rough schedule of what posts I wanted to go up when.
Another thing I would say if you are planning to blog every day for an entire month is to make sure you have enough material to write about. What I found the most challenging when I was doing Blogvember is thinking of what to write, especially towards the end of the month when I really started to run out of ideas. Other blogs as well as the Internet are a great if you are looking for inspiration, but obviously it goes without saying that it's not cool to copy other blogs.
Lastly I would say enjoy! If you are trying to blog every day for a month but you are getting bored, running out of ideas or are simply too busy, it's ok to give up. Nobody will judge you for it and remember, it's only a blog!
Well lovelies, I really hope you've enjoyed this month on Dolled Up London! I have decided to not blog in December, however next year I am planning to be back with Blogruary, which means I shall hopefully be blogging every day in February. Have an amazing December lovelies and I shall see you again in 2017!

Black Friday Haul

Black Friday Haul
Hello Lovelies,
As you all know, last Friday was Black Friday. Like most of the Nation I took advantage of the sales and did a little bit of shopping, and today I thought I'd share with you the bits I picked up. Don't get too excited though because this isn't a massive haul or anything. However, I did make a rather exciting purchase so read on to see what I got!
Black Friday Haul Chanel Beauty Blender
I love the Twist and Spray range from Chanel because well, who doesn't want to carry around a travel size Chanel fragrance in their handbag? I know I do! I took advantage of a 10% off all beauty offer in my local department store and picked up the Chanel Eau Tendre Twist and Spray. Chanel Eau Tendre is a fruity floral fragrance and the notes in it include grapefruit-quince, jasmine and white musks. I'm a massive fan of Chanel fragrance and I am so glad I have now added the Eau Tendre to my collection!
This year I have become obsessed with beauty blenders. I don't even think it is possible for me to apply my foundation without using this little miracle sponge! I go through about 4 beauty blenders a year because somehow I struggle to look after them properly and after a few months they just end up looking like a foundation drenched mess.  I figured why not pick up another one up in the Black Friday sales so that's what I did!
All Saints Leather Jacket
Ok so this is the exciting item I splurged on in the Black Friday sales! I have wanted a leather jacket from All Saints for quite some time now, and when I saw that the brand were offering 30% off pretty much their entire range I knew it was the right time to treat myself! All Saints leather jackets are super stylish and amazing quality, and I can't wait to start wearing this little beauty! When it comes to more expensive fashion purchases I prefer buying classic pieces that I know I will wear for a while. An All Saint leather jacket is something I will definitely get a lot of wear out of. I also know this won't go out of fashion after one season, so to me it's totally worth the money!
Well lovelies, that's it for my Black Friday haul! I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got. I know I always love looking at what other people are buying haha! Did you pick up anything in the sales? Let me know in the comments below and don't forget to come back tomorrow for the last day of Blogvember!

My Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow Pallete

 My Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow Pallete
Hey Lovelies,
If you've been reading my blog for a while you may know that I'm a huge fan of MAC eyeshadows. Lately however, I started a small collection of Bobbi Brown eyeshadows. Until recently I wasn't even aware that you can custom make your own Bobbi Brown palette, but as soon as I found out I made myself an eyeshadow palette which I'm going to share with you on my blog today!
What I love about my Bobbi Brown custom made eyeshadow palette is that it come with a rather large mirror. Not only that, but you can flip the pallet over and see exactly what the names and finishes of all the shadows are. Bobbi Brown blushes also fit into the palette, but I decided to only fill my palette with eyeshadows. I'm pretty sure though that I will be building a Bobbi Brown blush palette in the near future!
Another thing I love about the Bobbi Brown customisable palette is that you can easily remove the shadows from the palette and place them back in the original pan they came in. This is super handy if for example you are travelling and don't want to take the entire palette with you when have limited space in your luggage.
Anyway, now we've discussed the design of this palette let's have a look at the eyeshadows I purchased to fill my palette!
Bobbi Brown Bone Eyeshadow, 2.55g, RRP £17.50
Bobbi Brown describe Bone as an off white shade on their website. I use this colour as an all over lid colour before layering more colours to create a soft smokey eye and it makes for the perfect base colour!
Bobbi Brown Champagne Quartz Eyeshadow, 2.8g, RRP £17.50
Champagne Quartz is the first Bobbi Brown eyeshadow I bought when I was building my palette. It has a metallic finish and on the Bobbi Brown website it is described as a champagne pink shade. I am a sucker for an inner corner highlight this is how I wear Champagne Quartz. It is a simply beautiful shade!
Bobbi Brown Velvet Plum Eyeshadow, 2.8g, RRP £17.50
Velvet Plum has a metallic finish and is described as a black plum shimmer on the Bobbi Brown website. I always wear brown and gold eyeshadows but I picked up velvet plum because it's a such gorgeous colour and I must really make an effort to wear this shade more often!
Bobbi Brown Toast Eyeshadow, 2.5g, RRP £17.50
Toast is describes as a toasted peach colour on the Bobbi Brown website. It has a soft matte finish. It's very blendable and makes the perfect transition shade. I don't have any shades similar to Toast in my collection and I always receive lots of compliments when I'm wearing it, so if you're after a warm matte eyeshadow I highly recommend checking out Toast by Bobbi Brown!
Bobbi Brown Baby Peach Eyeshadow, 3g, RRP £24.00
Baby Peach is part of Bobbi Brown's shimmer wash eyeshadow collection and it is called a soft peach shade on their website. This eyeshdow is so pretty and adds a subtle sparkle to the eyes. Definitely check it out if you are after something sparkly but don't want to go all out glitter!
Bobbi Brown Rich Brown Eyeshadow, 2.5g RRP £17.50
Ok so I've already featured Rich Brown in my November favourites. I simply cannot get enough of this eyeshadow! I know a matte brown is perhaps not the most exciting of eyeshadow colours, but Rich Brown by Bobbi Brown is highly pigmented and blendable which makes it my perfect brown for s smokey eye in my opinion! On the website this colour is described as a deep warm brown.
Do you have any Bobbi Brown eyeshadows in your collection? Which ones are your favourites?

7 Things I Would Like To See The Back Of in 2017

Hello Lovelies,
Well 2017, what a year it's been. We've had celebrity deaths a plenty and the general public have made some pretty questionable decisions to say the least. Today's post is about 7 things I would like to see the back of in 2017, so have read and let me know if you agree with any of my points!
  1. In 2017 I would like to see no more rock legends dying please. David Bowie and Prince joined Lemmy, Kurt Cobain, Michael Jackson and co in heaven this year. That's a pretty awesome concert line up and I think heaven doesn't need any more rock royalty joining them up there.
  2. In 2017 I would like to see the back of expressions and words such as bae, all the feels, on fleek etc. Maybe I'm just too old and not down with the kids, but expressions like that annoy me. Please can we all start speaking properly in 2017?
  3. Animal cruelty is something else we need to see the back of in 2017. An end to cruelty against animals and tougher sentences for people who abuse animals is something I would quite like to see being introduced in 2017.
  4. When I say Honey you say... Good bye. I would love to see the end of X Factor in 2017. That show has certainly run its course now.
  5. Right so 2016 was politically pretty controversial with the UK voting to leave the European Union and Donald Trump winning the American presidential election. In 2016, I hope we see an end of political decisions that divide the opinions of nations, and I also hope that we find a way to make work what the people have voted for.
  6. I live in London and like all Londoners I would love to see the end of train and tube delays in 2017! I can't remember the last time my journey wasn't disrupted due to signal failure/rain/sunshine/leaves on tracks/Santa and Rudolph holding up the District Line. It would just be so amazing if all trains, buses and the tube always ran on time in 2017!
  7. Finally in 2017 I would like to see an end to the lip filler trend that seems ever so popular at the moment. Some many young girls are getting lip fillers, and yes, when it's done right it can look quite good but I'm simply not a fan. Girls, you are pretty as you are, please don't get injections that make you look like pouting ducks!
2017 has been eventful to say the least! What would you like to see the back of in 2017? Do you agree with any of my opinions? Let me know in the comments below and until tomorrow,

Book Review - The Catcher In The Rye

The Catcher In The Rye Book Review
Hello Lovelies,
Today's post is going to be a book review on The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger. This classic is my favourite book of all time which is why I have decided to share my thoughts on it with you all on my blog today!
The Catcher In The Rye is very easy to read. The first time I read this book I was about 13 years old. Over the years I have re read this book several times and I can still relate to it as much today as I could when I was a teenager haha!
The Catcher in the Rye is set in the USA in the 1950s and is written from the point of view of Holden Caufield, a 16 year old boy who has been kicked out of his posh boarding school. Instead of immediately returning home and explaining to his parents what has happened, Holden spends a few days doing, well not a lot really, in New York.
Now if you haven't read The Catcher In The Rye you may be wondering what's the point in reading a book about a guy who spends a few days doing very little in New York. Let me tell you, this book is actually hilarious and definitely not pointless! It's centred all around the very complex character that is Holden Caufield. Holden is a bit of a pessimist who sees the worst in most things and hates almost everything. My friends would probably tell you Holden sounds bit like me really haha! I can certainly emphasise with this very negative 16 year old teenager anyway. Holden is a very simple, funny character who narrates everything that he considers is wrong with the world. The thing that Holden seems to despise the most is definitely "phonieness", and there are many examples of this throughout the book.
The Catcher in the Rye is written in American slang and contains some swearing, which makes Holden's character all the more believable. You certainly wouldn't expect a miserable 16 year old who hates everything to speak the Queen's English now, would you! Although Holden struggles quite a bit in the real world and seems to hate people, but he is also a kind person which you can tell through his relationship with his siblings, especially his younger sister Phoebe.
I have so many favourite quotes from this book, so here are just a couple:

“I am always saying "Glad to've met you" to somebody I'm not at all glad I met. If you want to stay alive, you have to say that stuff, though.”

“All morons hate it when you call them a moron.”

The Catcher In The Rye is quite a short book to read and it ends quite abruptly. Towards the end of the book it becomes clear that Holden is spending some time at a mental health facility. You could say the whole book is a journey through a mental breakdown that Holden appears to be having.
If you enjoy reading books that are set around a narrator's character, then I definitely would recommend getting yourself a copy of Catcher In The Rye!
Have you read this classic? What are your thoughts on it?

November Favourites

Hello Lovelies,
As you can by the title of this post, I am going to be sharing my November Favourites with you today! I haven't actually posted my monthly favourites in a very long time on my blog so I hope you enjoy reading this post!
November Favourites
I have been obsessed with the Maximum Cover Foundation from Estee Lauder all year, not just during the month of November. Although this product is technically a foundation, I use it as concealer on my cheeks where I have a lot of discolouration. This product is so opaque that you only need the tiniest amount to get really full coverage. I love the fact that this foundation has amazing coverage and still feels comfortable on my skin. Since discovering this product I do not use anything else to conceal the discolouration on my face any more!
I use the Estee Lauder Maximum Cover Foundation on my cheeks where I have a lot of discolouration, but under my eyes I prefer using the Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer. This stuff is amazing. It's got great coverage and doesn't crease under my eye area. I have probably tried most concealers on the market and this one is my all time favourite which is why I've obviously had to include it in my November favourites!
Chanel is one of my favourite brands for fragrance and my latest obsession is Allure. I've worn this fragrance most times when I've been out in November! Allure is a fruity oriental fragrance and the notes in it include mandarin, rose and vanilla. The original Chanel Chance used to be my favourite fragrance from the brand, but I think Allure has now taken the number one spot!
MAC Amber Lights is an oldie but a goldie for me. I always reach for this colour in November and December. MAC describe Amber Lights as a peachy brown with shimmer on their website. This eyeshadow is highly pigmented and blendable. I would say it is almost like a golden copper colour. It definitely has some peach tones running through it. I love using Amber Lights to create a golden smokey eye. If you don't already own this beauty have a look at it next time you're at a MAC counter. I think it's a very versatile shade that would suit a varitey of different skin tones and eye colours!
Bobbi Brown Rich Brow Eyeshadow, RRP £17.50
Bobbi Brown's Rich Brown eyeshadow has a matte finish and it's a gorgous deep colour that I think is perfect for creating a smokey eye. Some matte dark eyeshadows can be a bit difficult to blend, but Rich Brown by Bobbi Brown is so blendable! Not only that, but this shade is also super pigmented and I love using it through my crease and in the outer corner when I'm going for a brown smokey eye look, which is quite often haha!
Estee Lauder Impassioned Lipstick, RRP £25.50
Impassioned by Estee Lauder is my favourite red toned lipstick which I have shared on my blog previously so I won't go on about it too much. Click here if you'd like to see my original post on this product. Impassioned is a very creamy and opaque lipstick. It lasts about 6 hours on my lips and it's the lipstick I have been reaching for the most during the month of November. It's an orange toned red. On my skin it looks more red than orange and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be wearing this lippie through most of December as well!
Here is a swatch of tboth eyeshadows and the lipstick I have mentioned in today's post!
That's it for my November favourites my lovelies! Which products have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments and see you again tomorrow for yet another dose of Blogvember!

My Bobbi Brown Brush Collection

Hey Lovelies,
I don't know about you, but I love make up brushes. I think having the right tools to apply your make up is just as important as the products you use, and for today's post I have decided to share with you my Bobbi Brown brush collection. I think that when it comes to make up brushes, you simply cannot beat Bobbi Brown or MAC. The quality of their brushes is outstanding and no matter how oftern I wash these brushes, they do not shed and the brush heads do not deattach themselves from the funnel. This has actually happened to quite a few of my drugstore brushes, and it's why I now only buy brushes from Bobbi Brown and MAC. Both brands really have a brush for everything, and if you fancy having a little gander around my Bobbi Brown brush collection, then read on!
Bobbi Brown Blush Brush
Bobbi Brown Blush Brush, RRP £35.00
I love my Bobbi Brown blush brush! It's so versatile, you can use it to apply blusher, powder or bronzer! The dome shaped bristles of this brush are dense and they feel very soft against the skin. Applying blusher is so easy with this brush because it has been designed to pick up exactly the right amount of pigment and distribute it evenly accross the cheeks.
The Bobbi Brown Powder brush has got to be one of my all time favourite brushes for applying powder. The bristles are so soft and I love the fact that they are tapered because it makes it easy to apply powder precisely where I need it. I use this brush with my full coverage powder foundations and my skin never looks cakey. Just like the Bobbi Brown blush brush, this brush also versatile and can be used to apply blusher and bronzer.
Bobbi Brown Bronzer Brush
Bobbi Brown Bronzer Brush, RRP £38.00
The Bobbi Brown Bronzer brush has a short handle. The bristles are very soft and the tip of the brush is quite flat with slightly rounded edges. My bronzer never looks muddy when I use this brush to apply it, and I think it's the perfect tool for applying and blending bronzer in one easy step!
Bobbi Brown Face Blender Brush
Bobbi Brown Face Blender Brush, RRP £33.00
This is the first ever Bobbi Brown brush I ever bought! I picked it up about 10 years ago with a Bronze Shimmer brick on the recommendation of a Bobbi Brown make up artist. I can't believe how long this brush has lasted me! It's still in perfect condition after many years of use. I always use my Bobbi Brown Face Blender to apply and blend highlighter onto my cheekbones.
Well lovelies, these are all my Bobbi Brown make up brushes. I hope you've enjoyed reading this post! What are your favourite make up brushes? Don't forget to leave me a comment and please don't forget come back tomorrow for day 25 of Blogvember!

My Bad Beauty Habits

Hello Lovelies,
I think everybody has bad habits. Some people bite their nails, others are always on their phone and for today's post, I thought I would share with you my bad beauty habits! Read on if you are interested in finding out which beauty crimes I am guilty of but be warned, this post is not for the faint hearted haha!
My first bad beauty habit is that I don't always wash my make up brushes. I know that make up applies much better when you are using clean brushes, and that there is nothing more disgusting than a dirty beauty blender, but that does not stop me from sometimes completely neglecting my brush cleansing routine. I usually aim to wash my make up brushes once a week, but sometimes life just happens, or I am just too bone idle lazy to get off the couch and give my brushes a good clean (more likely).
My second bad beauty habit is that I wear high coverage foundation and I set it with high coverage foundation powder. I have been doing this for many years now, and it's not something I think I will ever change about my make up routine. I've watched a lot of these how not to do your make up tutorials on YouTube and also heard many make up artists advising against applying full coverage foundation and setting it with full coverage foundation powder but hey, it's my face and I shall cake it in as much make up as I want to.
My third bad beauty habit is that I apply black eyeliner on my lower and upper lashline. I've actually got really big round eyes and I like to make them look smaller, so I'm all over any technique that closes up the eyes. I have tried lining my eyes in colours such as grey and brown, but I always go back to my beloved black eyeliner. I'm pretty sure I will still be rocking black eyeliner when I'm 90 years old.
My final bad beauty habit is that I am a messy make up hoarder. Although I own a lot of high end make up, sadly my make up set up is just terrible. Like most people I have my Muji storage but somehow all my make up ends up all over my desk rather than in the fancy acrylic drawers which I bought to house my cosmetics collection haha. It's organised chaos though, and I can (usually) find exactly what I am looking for somewhere on my beauty desk.
Well these are my bad beauty habits, what are yours? Don't forget to let me know in the comments below and I hope I am not the only person who is guilty of all these crimes against make up!
Thank you for reading and until tomorrow,

My Top 3 Highlighters

Hey Lovelies,
I think 2016 was definitely the year of the highlight in the beauty world! The last couple of years have been all about power brows and contouring, but this year strobing and highlighting really took off. I have quite a few highlighters in my make up collection, and for today's post I thought I would share with you my top 3 favourite highlighters!
Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Bronze Glow
Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Bronze Glow, RRP £34.00
As soon as I spotted this highlighter at the Bobbi Brown counter, I knew I needed it in my life. Bronze Glow is a lovely warm toned highlighter. It has a soft texture and blends effortlessly into the skin. Whenever I am wearing this highlighter I end up admiring how pretty it looks when I look in the mirror, especially when it catches the light. It gives my skin an almost glass like sheen which I love love love!
BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop
BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop, RRP £30.00
If I was only allowed to say one thing about Champagne Pop by BECCA Cosmetics, it would simply be believe the hype. This product has a lovely buttery texture. As the name suggests, it has a champagne colour. It looks absolutely incredible when applied to the cheeks! I would say that Champagne Pop is a very opaque highlighter but you can definitely blend it out for a more subtle day time look. Putting Champagne Pop in my top 3 highlighters post was really a no brainer for me. I recently hit pan on it and words simply cannot express how sad that made me. Luckily I still have a long way to go before I've used this highlighter all up, but once I have I will most definitely be repurchasing it.
MAC Soft and Gentle
MAC Soft and Gentle, RRP £24.00
I think most beauty lovers own Soft and Gentle by MAC have heard it. This product is part of the brand's mineralise skinfinish collection. Soft and Gently is a lovely warm toned highlighter that blends easily and reflects the light beautifully. I love how this product gives a natural glow from within look to my skin, which is why it's one of my favourite highlighters.
Here are all highlighters swatched next to each other. Aren't they all beautiful!
What are your favourite highlighters? Let me know in the comments below and see you again tomorrow for day 20 of Blogvember!

Skincare Empties

Hey Lovelies,
I hope you are all well and that you've had a great day! It's my day off today and in a few hours I'm about to take one of my doggy friends for a walk, but before I do that I thought I'd write up a post on a few skincare empties that are about to make their way into my recycling bin. So without further ado let's have a look at what I've used up this month!
Estee Lauder DayWear Creme 50ml, RRP £42.00
This is one of my all time favourite moisturisers and I have already featured it in a previous empties post on my blog. I must go through about 3 jars of this a year, and I have been using this moisturiser for several years now. This product is available in 3 different formulations. There's a formula for dry skin, an oil free formula and one for normal to combination skin. I use the normal to combination DayWear. This creme has a lovely fresh cucumber scent that isn't overpowering. It contains SPF15 and it's rich in antioxidants. I love how this product absorbs into my skin. It keeps my skin hydrated and protected against the ageing and burning rays of the sun.  I wouldn't be without it which is why I have already repurchased it!
Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser, 150ml, RRP £17.00
This is one of my favourite foaming cleansers. Some cleansers I have tried in the past can dry out my skin, but the Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser doesn't which is why I keep repurchasing it. I use this product every evening on my cleansing brush. It has a creamy, almost mousse like consistency and you really only need a tiny amount of this product to work up a rich lather. It cleanses my skin and removes heavy make up. Like all their products, the Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser fragrance free and because it works so well for me I have already repurchased it!
Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Make Up Remover, 125ml
This is my favourite drugstore eye make up remover. I wear heavy eye make up on pretty much a daily basis, so I need something effective yet gentle to remove it all at the end of the day. The Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Make Up Remover is a bi phase make up remover which means you need to shake the bottle before you use it. I use this product as a pre cleanse before I go in with a cleansing balm and it really does a great job at getting most of my eye make up off, and that's why I've already repurchased another bottle!
Estee Lauder Re Nutriv Softening Lotion, 250ml RRP £46.00
If we rewind back a few years I was never really using toners because I just didn't see the point, but now I am more educated on skincare they are part of my everyday routine, and the Estee Lauder Softening Lotion has got to be my all time favourite toner! A lot of toners on the market contain alcohol but the Renurtiv Softening Lotion doesn't so it doesn't dry out my skin. I use this every morning to get rid of any impurities that might be left on my skin after cleansing and it leaves my skin feeling smooth, hydrated and soft! I go through about 2 bottles of this a year, and you won't be surprised to hear that I have already repurchased another bottle!
So that's it for my skincare empties. I hope you've enjoyed today's post and if you have, do pop back tomorrow to read some more of my beauty musings!

Easy Chicken Recipe

Hey Lovelies,
Considering I hate cooking, I've still managed to post 2 recipe posts on my blog already, and today I am bringing you my 3rd foolproof recipe. I got this recipe from my mum, and it's such a quick an easy way to prepare chicken I thought I'd share it with you guys today! Don't get me wrong, I still hate cooking by the way, but I am trying to be a little bit healthier lately plus it's kind of embarrassing when you're nearly 36 and can just about manage to boil an egg...
Anyway, let's start with the ingredients. You are going to need:
2 cloves of garlic
1 small lemon
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
2 tablespoons of yogurt
half a tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of oregano
250g mini chicken fillets
Salt and pepper
First of all you need to get yourself a mixing bowl. Crush the 2 garlic cloves and squeeze the lemon and place them in the bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, half a tablespoon of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of yogurt, 1 tablespoon of oregano and some salt and pepper into the bowl and mix everything together before adding the chicken fillets. This needs to be covered up with some cling film and marinaded in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
After about 4 hours take the marinaded chicken out of the fridge and place it into an ovenproof dish.  Your chicken will take about 35 minutes to cook in an oven that's been pre heated to 170 degrees.
Once it's done you should have something  that looks a bit like this:
I usually have this chicken with some broccoli and potatoes and it's a pretty simple, low calorie meal to make! This recipe will serve about 3 people.
I hope you've enjoyed reading this recipe post, let me know how it turns out if you decide to give it a go!
Thanks for reading and see you again tomorrow,

MAC Lady Danger
Hey Lovelies,
I think you know the score by now. I use a lot of MAC make up, and when I have 6 empties I return them to MAC in exchange for a free lipstick. The biggest surprise in this empties post is that it does not include a brush cleanser haha! If you have read all my other Back To MAC posts, you will know that they always seem to include an empty brush cleanser, but not this post my lovelies! If you are interested in finding out which products I've used up, then read on!
Back To MAC Empties
I love MAC Strobe Cream and have been using it for years. It's a moisturiser that gives a glow to the skin because it has iridescent particles in it. I actually use Strobe Cream as a primer over my moisturiser and I love how it makes my skin look radiant and healthy, even if I am wearing full coverage foundation and powder!
MAC Translucent Setting Powder, Pro Product
I should have checked the official name of this product before I gave it back to MAC because I am not sure what this lose translucent setting powder is called. I do know that it's a pro product and it was given to me as part of my kit when I did my make up course at the London College of Fashion.
MAC Lustre Drops in Sun Rush
I am not having much luck with this empties post because this is another product I can't find on the MAC website either  haha! Sun Rush basically a gold liquid bronzer that you can wear on its own or mixed in with your foundation. Just like the previous product I mentioned, I got this product as part of my kit at the London College of Fashion. I did a course there over 5 years ago, and  decided that these Lustre Drops must be way past their sell by date which is why I included them in my MAC empties.
As the name suggests, this is a waterproof brow gel which sets and adds colour to your brows. I liked how this product kept my brows in place without making them feel crunchy which some brow gels can do, so I will be repurchasing this again at some point for sure.
I actually bought this because MAC Fix Plus was out of stock when I needed to replenish it. You can use this product underneath your make up to hydrate your skin, or over your make up to refresh it. I really enjoyed using this but I have now gone back to MAC Fix Plus which is my all time favourite setting spray!
This is one of those pen style highlighters that has a brush applicator. I use this after I apply my foundation and concealer on the parts of my face which I want to highlight, so basically my cupids bow, my chin, the centre of forehead and under my eyes. This product is designed to give a wash of colour to the face where you need it rather than a lot of coverage which I think is great because after I've applied my foundation and concealer, I don't really need any more coverage, just something to softly define my features. This is another product which I shall be repurchasing!
Well now that I've shared my empties with you it's time to look at the lipstick I chose!  I am actually quite proud of myself because rather than choosing yet another nude lipstick, I decided to try something different and picked up Lady Danger for my Back to MAC free lipstick. Lady Danger has a matte finish and is incredibly pigmented. Christmas is pretty much around the corner now and I am going through a bit of a gold smokey eye and red lip thing at the moment which is why I went with this colour.
Here's a swatch so you can admire how beautiful this lipstick is!
MAC Lady Danger Swatch
As you can see Lady Danger is a bright coral red. What I love about this lipstick is how versatile it is. I can wear it in winter for a Christmassy look, but it will also look amazing in the summer because it is so bright!
Well as always thank you for reading lovelies, I hope you've enjoyed my latest Back to MAC post and don't forget to come back tomorrow for another dose of Blogvember on Dolled Up London!

My MAC Pigment Collection

Hello Lovelies,
As you know I love MAC Cosmetics, and my favourite products from the brand are their eye shadows and their pigments. For today's post I've decided to share with you my beloved MAC pigment collection!
I love MAC pigments because they are so versatile. You can use them as wet or dry as eyeshadow, you can wear them as highlighter or on your lips, and if you're feeling really creative you can even mix them in with your nail polish or moisturiser. I'm pretty sure there are probably even more ways make up artists use these pigments, but I usually just wear my MAC pigments as eyeshadow, and as it stands I have 7 pigments in my collection.
MAC Pigment Collection
First I'd like to start by saying what amazing value MAC pigments are! They retail for £16.00 and you roughly get 4.5g of product which will last you a very long time! I use these pigments on my eyes with an eyeshadow primer and they last on my lids all day without creasing.
One thing that I noticed about the packaging of MAC pigments when I was taking the pictures for this blog post is that the lids are made of a similar material to that pesky NARS packaging which is pretty much impossible to keep clean haha!
MAC Pigment SwatchesYou can probably tell from my collection that I am a neutrals lover. I've swatched the colours on my arm for you so you can see just how beautiful and opaque these shades are!
MAC Melon is a beautiful golden peach colour and it has a frost finish.
MAC Tan is a lovely bronze shade that has a browney pink tone to it.
MAC Blue Brown is the most unique colour in my collection. As the name suggests, this shade has blue and brown tones. To me the colour of this pigment looks different depending on the light and it is a truly stunning shade!
MAC Aurora is a limited edition pigment that's no longer available so I won't say much about it other than it's a lovely grey shade.
MAC Naked is one of my favourite pigments! It's a beautiful matte beige pigment with pearl effect. I don't think my swatch does it justice and if you don't already own this shade definitely check it out next time you're at MAC!
MAC Copper Sparkle is a gorgeous sparkly copper colour. D'oh!
MAC Vanilla This is the first MAC pigment I ever purchased. MAC describe it as an ivory white on their website and I use this product as an inner corner highlight or to highlight my cheekbones.
Well lovelies, these are all my MAC pigments. I love these pigments so much that I am pretty sure I will be adding even more shades to my collection in the future!
What's your favourite MAC pigment? Don't forget to leave me a comment down below and until tomorrow,
