Clarisonic Mia 2 Cleansing Brush Review

Hey Lovelies,
Hope you are all good and having a fantastic weekend! Today's post is going to be a review on the Clarisonic Mia 2 Sonic Cleansing Brush which I recently purchased from Space NK. I have been using my Clarisonic Mia 2 for about 2 months now so I thought it's time I'd share with you my thoughts on this sonic facial cleansing brush!
Clarisonic Mia 2 Facial Sonic Cleansing
I don't know about you, but I wear a lot of make up! Foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer and blusher are just a few of the make up items which I pile on my face on a daily basis. Over the years I have tried various different cleansers, both drugstore and high end, to cleanse my face at the end of each day. Due to the fact I am usually caked in make up, it would quite often take me a triple or even a quadruple cleanse for my face to be squeaky clean and make up free. No matter how much I cleansed, there would always be some make up residue left on my cotton pad after toning! This is why I finally decided to invest in a cleansing brush, and I can tell you now, I may be £125 poorer for it, but it was a decision I do not regret!

Cleansing brushes seem to be all the rage now, with various brands releasing cleansing brushes to suit all different skin types and budgets. I decided to invest in the Clarisonic Mia 2 because as far as I know, Clarisonic were the first company to ever bring out a cleansing brush. I have heard so many good things about the brand over the years that I decided it is about time to treat myself and see what all the fuss is about!
The Clarisonic Mia 2 comes with the following items:
  • Mia 2 Sonic Facial Cleansing Brush
  • Mia 2 Sonic Facial Cleansing Brush Charger
  • Sensitive Brush head
  • Travel Case
  • 30ml Sample Size Cleanser
The Clarisonic Mia 2 cleanses your skin 6 times better than if you are just using your hands alone and gives your skin a really deep and thorough clean! It has 2 speed settings: low and normal. When I started using my Clarisonic Mia 2, I used the lower speed setting but soon moved up to the regular speed setting as I found it gives my skin a deeper cleanse. It comes with the brush head for sensitive skin, but there are other brush heads available which are designed for different skin types and skin concerns. As I am very happy with my sensitive skin brush head, so I will stick to this type of brush head once I need to replace it, which is about once every 3 months.

What I really love about my Clarisonic Mia 2 is how simple it is to use. I use mine every night in the shower after removing my make up. I wet the brush and apply a pea sized amount of my foaming cleanser onto the brush head. Once you switch the brush on, it operates for a full minute. I start off by cleansing my forehead for 20 seconds. Once the Clarisonic Mia 2 pulsates, I move it down to my T Zone for a further 20 seconds. It will then pulsate twice more, giving me 10 seconds to cleanse each cheek. You are advised not to press too hard when using a Clarisonic, but to gently glide the brush over your skin using small circular motions.
The Clarisonic Mia 2 is gentle enough to use twice a day. Personally however I prefer to just use it once in the evenings because in the mornings I am too tired and lazy so I just give my skin a quick clean with a cleansing milk.
Since using my Clarisonic Mia 2, I have not suffered from any breakouts. What's more, when I apply my toner after cleansing now, the cotton pad is completely make up free! I cannot tell you how happy this makes me haha! Finally I have found a way to cleanse my face that is gentle but effective in removing all the make up I pile on my face each day. This means that the serums and moisturiser which I apply after cleansing are able to absorb properly into my skin. Hurray!
Investing in the Clarisonic Mia 2 also means I no longer feel the need to use exfoliators. The Clarisonic Mia 2 does a great job at removing dead skin cells from my face. In fact, Clarisonic advice against using exfoliators on your sonic cleansing brush because that would be too harsh for your skin.
All in all I am very happy with this product, and I honestly don't think I will ever go back to regular hand cleansing.
Have you tried any cleansing brushes? Which one is your favourite?

  4. Hi! Have you checked if your Clarisonic is real? I am planning to buy my own Clarisonic and doing intensive research on real vs. fake. According to other bloggers, when the box openening is at the top it could be fake. It is just confusing now.
