Back to MAC... Again!

Hey Lovelies,
I hope you are all keeping well! I know its not long since my last Back To MAC post; but I have another one for you today! What can I say other than I love my MAC haha! I've actually been clearing out my make up collection over the last couple of weeks and decided to tackle my MAC stash, which is how I ended up accumulating enough empties for yet another MAC lipstick. So without further ado lets delve into the 6 MAC empties I returned to MAC in exchange for a free full size lipstick of my choice.
Back To MAC Cosmetics Empties
Back in 2012 I completed a make up course at the London College of Fashion. The course included a MAC make up kit, and the foundation we were given was MAC Full Coverage in various different shades. Now this was over 3 years ago now, and you really shouldn't keep foundation for that long.  This is why I decided to put 2 of the foundations in shades that I haven't actually used since my course towards my Back To MAC empties. MAC Full Coverage foundation has, as the name suggests, full coverage. I found that it also works great as a concealer! This is however more of a pro product that's designed for photo shoots and to cover things like scars and tattoos. That said, there is no reason why you couldn't wear this every day if you wanted to. If you look at the Make Up By Me section on my blog you will see how amazing this foundation photographs!
This product is perhaps a little bit misunderstood. A lot of people assume it is designed to make your make up stay on all day, which it probably isn't. I love MAC Fix+ and use it to freshen up my make up during the day and after applying my make up if I feel I have applied too much and it looks to heavy or powdery.
A pretty much self explanatory product that I have probably included in all the Back to MAC posts I have ever done. It's my favourite brush cleanser which I will continue to repurchase until the end of time.
MAC Petalscent Eyeshadow
I have had this eyeshadow for so long that it is now discontinued. I think it may even be one of  the first MAC eyeshadows I ever purchased, but it is a pale purple / pink colour that I rarely use hence I decided to bid it farewell. I probably bought this eyeshadow back in 2005 so it is kind of gross to think I kept it for so long. Make up after all, has a shelf life and I am pretty sure you should not keep eyeshadows for about 10 years haha!
MAC 15 Pan Pro Palette
I think MAC redesigned their palettes about 2 years ago. They look so much more stylish and elegant now, and this empty MAC palette wasn't doing anything for me other than taking up valuable space in my make up collection which is why it had to go! I may do a post on my MAC 15 pan eyeshadow palette soon so keep a look out for that. And no, don't worry, I didn't return my eyeshadows to MAC - only the empty palette haha!
MAC Cosmetics Rebel Lipstick
Ok so now onto the exciting part: The new lipstick which I added to my collection! I was in 2 minds of whether to chose another nude seeing as they are all the rage at the moment, or to step out of my lipstick comfort zone and go with the classic MAC Rebel which I have had my eye on for quite some time now. After consulting with the oracle that is Twitter, I decided to go with MAC Rebel.
MAC Cosmetics Rebel Lipstick
The first thing I noticed about MAC Rebel is how dark it is! Once applied however I realised that this lipstick does not go on as dark as it looks. MAC Rebel has a satin finish, which probably explains why it goes on quite opaque. MAC describe Rebel as a "midtonal cream plum", and I would agree with this. I found the formula of MAC Rebel to be quite creamy. You get decent wear out of it and it does not dry out your lips. The colour is most definitely plum and on me it seems to have some purple hues running through it. Well, I could go on for hours describing this lipstick, but let's just do this the easy way so here is a swatch for you all to enjoy!
MAC Cosmetics Rebel Swatch
I know many of you may already own this lipstick, but I am pretty pleased I picked it up and that I can finally join the MAC Rebel gang haha!
What is your favourite MAC lipstick?

  2. Nice choice! This is definitely out of my comfort zone, though I have Plumful which is a more sheer berry pink! It's gorgeous xx

  3. I love the back to MAC scheme, I really want to try the brush cleanser just to see how it compares to my baby shampoo method as I love the sound of this drying brushes quicker. Ruben is such a gorgeous shade and have to agree looks a lot darker in the bullet compared to when applied.
