Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm

Hey Lovelies,
Hope you're all having a good week! Today's post is going to be a review of the Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm which I was kindly sent for review. Melvita is not a brand I was familiar with before I started blogging, but since discovering their products I have become quite a big fan! Melvita is a French skincare company and all their products are organic and paraben free. The Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm contains royal jelly, cocoa butter and stevia leaf, as well as 3 different types of honey (thyme, acacia and orange blossom). These ingredients have been formulated to hydrate and nourish dry skin and that's exactly what my skin needs during this time of year.

I use a lot of fake tan which can be quite drying on my skin. Like most people, my skin also tends to feel a lot drier in the winter months. I have found that using the Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm makes a big difference to my skin. I am applying this body balm on the days when I am not fake tanning which is about 3 times a week and it keeps my skin feeling soft and moisturised. I must admit I was slightly worried about the fact that this body balm contains a blend of 3 different types of honey as I don't especially want to rub anything into my skin that will leave it feeling sticky, but I was pleasantly surprised because this product does not make my skin feel sticky at all. The Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm has a thick texture, and once I rub it into my skin it absorbs really well. I love using it after shaving my legs because it leaves them feeling extra smooth!
Now for me, one of the most important things when using a moisturiser is that it will not ruin my beloved fake tan, and I am happy to report that the Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm preformed well in my fake tan test and did not leave me looking patchy the way some moisturisers do. It also has quite a subtle sherbet scent which isn't perhaps my favourite, but that might be because I am used to body butters that are strongly fragranced, and I do appreciate that this product is organic and really good for my poor skin that has to endure constant fake tan abuse haha.
I know that this body balm is more on the pricey side. It retails for £22 for 150ml, but a little really goes a long way when you use it so this pot will last me quite a while, especially as I don't use it every day.
The Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm is packaged in a white plastic tub with a gold lid. It's perhaps not the most luxurious packaging I have ever seen, and considering that the body balm does have a premium beauty price tag I would have preferred it if it came in slightly prettier packaging, but other than that I am loving the results I'm getting from using it.
Have you tried any Melvita products?

  1. I haven't tried anything from this brand before! This sounds great as I also look for a cream that reacts well with my fake tan! :)

    1. I've only recently started getting into their products, everything I've used so far is really nice xx
