My Updated Skin Cleansing Routine (PM)

Hey Lovelies,
I don't know about you, but I always wear a ton of make up on a daily basis. I also have combination skin, which means I get oily in my T-Zone and the rest of my skin is usually quite dry. That's why it's really important for me to have a skin cleansing routine that removes all the slap off my face but is still gentle on my skin and does not break me out. This post is going to be all about the products I am currently using to get my face nice and clean before bedtime.
L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution I always start my skin cleansing routine by grabbing a micellar water and popping a bit on a cotton pad to wipe the majority of my make up off. The one I'm currently using is the L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution. I was using Bioderma which I absolutely love before, but sadly my bottle ran out so I decided to give the L'Oreal version a go instead, especially as it's available in Boots and Bioderma sadly isn't. L'Oreal's Micellar solution works by dissolving your make up and lifting excess oils and impurities from your skin. I wouldn't say it's as good as Bioderma but it's still a pretty decent product that's very affordable so I can't complain. I find it works really well at removing my foundation, but not my eye make up, in particular my mascara and eyeliner. This is why I am using a separate eye make up remover.
Melvita Eye Make Up Remover
Recently I was sent the Melvita Eye Make Up Remover and I think it's absolutely amazing! Over the years I have tried out lots of different eye make up removers, some drugstore, some high end. My favourite eye make up removers are bi-phase ones that you shake up before using. In my experience, they work best at removing stubborn mascara and gel eyeliner which are usually a pain get off. So when I received the Melvita Eye Make Up Remover, I was happy to see that it is a bi-phase make up remover. Like all Melvita products, their Eye Make Up remover is organic and not tested on animals. This product contains orange blossom and floral rose water to gently moisturise and soften the delicate eye area. What's more, it has castor oil as well as a prebiotic in it to strengthen your lashes and protect the delicate eye area. Now I'm no biologist, but I am really enjoying using this eye make up remover because it's gentle yet does a fab job at removing all my eye make up, which includes gel eyeliner and several layers of mascara.
Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser
Once I've removed my make up I cleanse my face with a hot cloth cleanser. If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll know I'm a massive fan of the Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleansers.  They are really affordable yet do a fantastic job at cleansing and exfoliating your skin. Lately I've been using their Naturally Radiant hot cloth cleanser which contains Kiwi Fruit and Mulberry extracts that apparently help even out your skin tone. Now I can't say my skin tone has improved since I started using this product, and sadly the damage from using sunbeds for many years is still there (I think it will take a real miracle product to ever sort that out!), but I love how this hot cloth cleanser gently exfoliates and cleanses my skin. And even though it contains cocoa butter, but it's not at all greasy. If you live in the UK and have not tried this yet, I suggest you get yourself to down to Superdrug and purchase one as a  matter of urgency. Your skin and bank balance will both thank you for it!
Melvita Gentle Cleansing Jelly
Now you'd think having used 3 different cleansing products means I am now done with my skin cleansing routine, right? Wrong! After the hot cloth cleanser I like to wash my face using facial wash. Melvita have also kindly sent me their Gentle Cleansing Jelly so that's the one I've been using lately. I'll be honest and say that when I first received this product I was slightly worried that it would be too drying for my skin because it's a cleansing jelly, but I couldn't have been more wrong! This cleanser foams up lightly when you add water to it. It contains narcissus extract as well as rose floral water to brighten and soften the skin, and my oh my, does this product soften my skin! If you are one of those people that are not a fan if foaming facial washes and are looking a product that's more gentle yet still effective, give this product a go, I promise you'll love it! I still can't her over how soft my skin feels after every time I use it.
Melvita Witch Hazel Virginiana Water
Believe it or not, we have finally reached the final step in my cleansing routine. When I was younger, I used to religiously cleanse, tone and moisturise but toning is the one step I have got a bit lazy with and often forget about. Melvita did however send me their Witch Hazel Virginiana Water that I have been using lately as my toner and I love it! The smell of this product reminds me of Chamomile tea, and it feels really soothing when I apply it. If you've got really sensitive skin, this product can also be used as a gentle cleanser.
Well, that's it for my skin cleansing routine. Once this process is complete, I pop on some serum, eye cream, moisturiser and off to bed I go.
Here are the links and prices for all the products mentioned above:

Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Cream

Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Cream
Hey Lovelies,
Hope you're all well! I've got a weekend off which means I've finally got time to catch up on some blogging - yay!
A while back Origins were running an amazing promotion where you received a free full size Plantscription eye cream with any moisturiser you purchased. Obviously that was an offer too good to pass up, so I chose a moisturiser and got the Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Cream completely free! Now that I've used up my Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (review) which I was using previously, I've moved on to the Origins Plantscription Anti-Ageing Eye Cream. I'm a big fan of eye creams and have been using them as part of my skincare routine for many years.
I'm not sure if everyone knows this, but the delicate under eye area is actually 30% thinner than the rest of the skin on our face. This is why it's really important to use creams under our eyes that are specifically formulated for that area.
The first thing I noticed about the Origins Plantscription Eye Cream is how soft it is. This cream almost feels like a whipped mousse when you apply it. It has a really light scent that's very fresh and not at all harsh or floral which I love. In fact, the smell reminds me a lot of MAC for some strange reason! Maybe because MAC and Origins are both owned by Estée Lauder - who knows?
Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Cream
Origins advise to apply this eye cream twice a day, morning and evening and this is how I've been using it. This product is a great base for under eye concealer and I've found my concealer lasts longer and creases less when I use it. This cream is also really hydrating and feels very soothing when you apply it. It isn't greasy at all so perfect if you have oily skin or greasy eyelids!
According to the Origins website, their Plantscription Anti-Aging eye cream helps to fight signs of ageing around your eyes which include crows feet and saggy eye skin. Now even though I am nearly 33 years old, I am lucky and the fine lines around my eyes are hardly noticeable. I also don't suffer from saggy eye skin and fingers crossed I never will haha! For that reason, I can't really say much about the anti ageing properties of this cream, and I guess it's more designed for people in their 40s and over rather than young spring chickens like me who are still in their 30s and pretty much wrinkle free.
However as I got this cream as a freebie, I have been using it anyway, especially as its proving to be a great base for my eye make up and I do have a few very fine lines around my eyes and I wouldn't mind if they faded a little.
I wouldn't say the Origins Plantscription Eye Cream has made the dark circles under my eyes disappear completely, but as it is such a hydrating product, they certainly aren't as dark as they would be if I wasn't using an under eye cream.
All in all I think this is a lovely little product that's perhaps best suited to more mature skin and would definitely make a lovely present for mums or grandmums and is also perfect for those of us who are starting to notice signs of ageing around our eye area.
You can buy this product at your nearest Origins counter for £36.50.

L'Oréal Line of Beauty Review

L'Oréal Line of Beauty
Hey Lovelies,
I've always been a massive fan of the L'Oréal Super Liner range, so I was really excited when I was contacted by L'Oréal and asked if I would like to review the new eyeliners and brow pencil they have launched for AW13. All liners are black with gold writing on them, making them a very simple and elegant addition to your make up bag.

L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Brow Artist

L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Brow Artist, RRP £5.49
This is the only brow pencil in the range. It's a double sided pen which has the coloured pencil on one side to fill in the brows, and a wax on the other to keep the brows in place all day long. The cap also doubles up as a brush so you can fill in and groom your brows all with just one product. The L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Brow Artist comes in 3 shades: Blonde, Brunette and Dark Brunette. The one I received is Brunette which is a medium brown. I have to be honest and say that I prefer using powder and an angled brush to fill in my brows because I feel you get a more natural look that way. However, if you are a fan of brow pencils, I would recommend checking the L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Brow Artist out. The coloured pencil is very easy to work with, though I would have preferred the wax to be a little softer and coloured, which is my only criticism of this product.
L'Oreal Paris Super Liner GelMatic
L'Oréal Paris Super Liner GelMatic, RRP £5.99
I'm a massive fan of gel eyeliner but have never seen it in automatic pen form so I was really excited to try this! I've used this on my waterline as well as my lash line, and I can confirm that the L'Oréal Paris Super Liner GelMatic is smudge proof and lasts all day long. I really like the fact that you do not need a brush to use this gel eyeliner. In my experience gel liner tends to dry up pretty quickly on brushes, making it a nightmare to get off. L'Oréal are certainly onto a winner with this product, and I would love for them to release it in a few more colours!
L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim, RRP £6.99
This is my favourite product out of the entire range! It has a very thin 0.4mm tip that enables to line your top lash line in one easy stroke. As the felt tip like applicator is so thin, it gives you complete control over how thin or thick you want to make your line. The colour of this product is the blackest black and once dried, it has a glossy finish. This liner does not budge once applied and stays on all day long. I love the fact that the L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim has a rubbery grip zone, making it very easy to apply. I've never owned a liner that's so easy to use and  will definitely be purchasing this once it runs out!
L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Blackbuster, RRP £6.99
This is L'Oréals first ever graphic eye marker that's perfect if you like thick, bold eyeliner à la Amy Winehouse. I have found this liner quite difficult to use because the pen is so thick, but the colour itself is very pigmented and long wearing, much like the L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim. If you are very experienced with eye liner and love creating looks with thick, bold lines, then I think this is definitely a product you will enjoy using.
Here are the swatches of the 4 products, and as you can see they are all very pigmented:
L'Oreal Line of Beauty
What I love about the L'Oréal Line of Beauty Range is that it has something for everyone, all at very affordable prices, and I am happy to report that I have found a new holy grail product in the L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim.
Which one is your favourite?

August Empties

August Empties
Hey Lovelies,
Autumn is definitely upon us! The weather is getting cooler, I've started turning the heating on and M&S are stocking Christmas cards. So, as a final goodbye to summer, I am posting my August Empties. I've used up 9 products in August, only one of those being a make up item. Some products I've loved, others I am glad to see the back of, so read on to find out what my thoughts are on all of my August Empties!
Clinique Super Rescue Anti Oxidant Moisturiser
I bought this moisturiser for dry skin because a few months back when my combination skin became very dry. I like the fact that even though I bought the formula for dry skin, it's not greasy and absorbs quickly into your skin when you apply it. It contains antioxidants to help protect your skin from environmental damage. I have enjoyed using this night time moisturiser, and my skin no longer feels really dry, but I am now ready to go back to my usual Clarins Multi Active Night Cream because it helps fight the first signs of ageing, and being in my early 30s means that that's really important to me.
Clinique Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush
This is the only make up product I managed to use up in August. Just about every drugstore brand has bought out a dupe for the Clinique Chubby Sticks, and all the dupes I've tried are pretty good! For this reason, I won't be buying any more Clinique Chubby Sticks. There are a lot of cheaper alternatives available on the high street, and I really want to try out the Rimmel and Bourjouis versions after reading so many rave reviews about them. Having said that, the Clinique Chubby Sticks are an amazing product that moisturise and add colour to your lips, the only thing that lets them down is the high end price tag.
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
This is a much raved top coat which I bought it after it was recommended to me by quite a few different people. My expectations for it were quite high but sadly, I was rather disappointed with this product. The strong smell didn't bother me that much, but whilst I was using this top coat my entire nail polish would peel off after just one day. I've also had to throw it out before I've used it all up because the product dried out and went quite gluey, making it impossible to use. I've now gone back to using Sally Hansen Insta Dri which is cheaper and works a lot better for me.
Garnier Summer Body
Being a fake tanning addict means I've tried a lot of gradual tanners, and Garnier Summer Body is by far my favourite. It has a lovely citrus scent and once you apply it, it dries quite quickly. The tan takes a few hours to develop into a lovely bronze colour. If like me you like being tanned all year round, I'd really recommend checking this product out, it's one I always repurchase.
Bath and Body Works Carried Away Body Lotion
What can I say other than what another amazing product by Bath and Body Works! This has a lovely raspberry, white jasmine and whipped vanilla scent and also contains Shea butter, jojoba oil and Vitamin E to hydrate the skin and keep it moisturised all day long. All Bath and Body Works body lotions I've tried so far are non greasy and fast absorbing, this one being no exception. I can't wait to get my hands on another one of these!
Nivea Refreshing Facial Wash Gel
Since trying out high end cleansers, I'm afraid I've fallen out of love with drugstore ones. I bought the this product after running out of my Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash, and the 2 products just don't compare. What I've found is that all the high end facial washes I've tried are a lot more concentrated, so you need to use less product to cleanse your face. They also leave my face feeling a lot cleaner than drugstore facial washes do, so I'm afraid that from now on I'll be sticking to high end face wash. I do find they are worth the money and I prefer the results I get when I use them.
Gillette Satin Care with a Touch of Olay Shave Gel
I only bought this product at my local supermarket because all the other shave gels in the Gillette range were sold out. It contains Olay and Shea butter, supposedly making it better for dry and sensitive skin, but I did not see any difference between this and the regular Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Skin shave gel which I normally use. I do not find it is worth the higher price tag they are charging for it and would recommend anyone to stick with the cheaper Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Skin shave gel. Both products do exactly the same thing, the only difference is the price.
TRESemme Thermal Creations Volume Boosting Mousse
I bought this product because my hair always looks really flat at the roots and I was looking for something to add a bit of volume. Sadly, this didn't really work for me and left my hair feeling quite sticky more than anything else. I don't know if it's my blow drying technique, but I do not feel that this product added any volume to my hair and I'm quite glad that I somehow managed to use it all up. TRESemme do have some amazing products, but this one sadly did not work for me and I won't be repurchasing it.
Bioderma
This massive bottle of Bioderma lasted me at least 4 months and I'm really sad it's all gone now. This is one of the best cleansing products I've ever used and definitely worth the hype. I've recently picked up the L'Oreal 3 in 1 Puryfing Micellar Solution, but I've found Bioderma a lot better for removing make up, and I can't wait to get my hands on another bottle! Click here if you'd like to read my full review on this brilliant cleanser!
Well that's it for my August Empties! Have you tried any of the products I've used up? If so let me know what you think of them in the comments below.

August Favourites

Hello Lovelies,
Can you believe we are in September already? The new series of X Factor has just started which means only one thing: Christmas is around the corner! I can't believe how quick this year seems to have flown by. Though its been quite nice having a warm summer, I am looking forward to the cooler months, being able to wrap up warm and change my make up to more autumnal colours.
I have to admit I am quite bad at putting up monthly favourites, but this month there have been quite a few products that I have been loving which I haven't mentioned on my blog yet, so I thought I'd share these products with you all in an August Favourites post.
Lauren's Way Self Tanning Bronzing Lotion
It's no secret I'm a massive fan of fake tan and this has been my go-to fake tan that I have been using throughout the month of August. This fake tan is so easy to apply as it dries really quick, which is probably my favourite thing about it. Some fake tans take a while to dry when you apply them, so you have to wait around before you get dressed, but the Lauren's Way Self Tanning Bronzing Lotion dries pretty much instantly. I apply this tan using a tanning mitt once a week before I go to bed and rinse it off in the morning. It leaves me looking bronzed and not at all orange. I bought it in the colour Darkest Dark, but I would say its more of a medium dark tan that fades evenly as well and does not go patchy. Definitely a product worth checking out if like me your a lover of fake tan!
Bath and Body Works Rio Rumberry Glowing Body Scrub
My mum bought this body scrub for me and I absolutely love it! Usually I use The Soap and Glory body scrubs to exfoliate my skin once a week, but I have to say this stuff is so much better! Soap and Glory scrubs can feel quite abrasive on my skin, whereas the Bath and Body Works Rumberry Glowing Body Scrub does not feel abrasive at all! It contains bamboo which gently exfoliates the skin, as well as vitamin E and coconut milk extract that help to moisturise the skin. I have been using this the night before I fake tan, and it easily removes any dead skin cells and and leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. Most Bath and Body Works products smell amazing, this one being no exception. It has a tropical berry and papaya scent that I just can't get enough of. If you've got a Bath and Body Works near you, I would really recommend checking this body scrub out!
OPI Nail and Cuticle Replenishing Oil
Sorry if this sounds a bit gross, but my cuticles have been an absolute state recently with skin flaking off and sometimes they'd even bleed slightly. When payday came around, I knew I needed to invest in a cuticle oil and decided to treat myself to the OPI Nail and Cuticle Replenishing Oil. This product has sorted my cuticles right out.  It contains avocado lipid complex which moisturises cuticles and nails and I am happy to report my cuticles no longer look disgusting thanks to this product! I do have to use it on a daily basis though because if I ever forget to use it my nails sadly go back to the disgusting state they were in before I bought this product.
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
This is by far my favourite Maybelline product and also one of my all time favourite mascaras. It thickens, volumises and lengthens my lashes and does not flake off during the day. If you layer this mascara up you really do get a false lash effect and I totally understand why Tanya Burr is always raving about it! In fact, I would even say this mascara gives some of its high end counterparts a run for their money. If you've not tried it yet, what are you waiting for??
Benefit Coralista Blush
I've had this blush in my collection for such a long time, but I have recently rediscovered it and have been wearing it on my cheeks throughout August. This colour is a lovely warm coral pink that suits my skin tone perfectly. Out of all of Benefits boxed blushes Coralista is probably one of my favourites. This product is really soft and pigmented so you only need to use a small amount and it gives a gorgeous flush colour to my cheeks
L'Oreal Paris Super Liner GelMatic
L'Oreal have recently released a new range of eyeliners which I was lucky enough to be sent for review. So far I have tried the Super Liner GelMatic and I love it! This product is basically a gel liner in pen form. Usually I use Maybellines Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, but I have to say I prefer the L'Oreal Super Liner GelMatic.  It's the blackest gel eyeliner I have ever used, even blacker than MAC's Blacktrack! It's so pigmented, because it comes in pen form you do not need a brush, and it lasts all day as well. I am planning to review the entire L'Oreal Line of Beauty range in a separate post, but this particular liner has impressed me so much I thought it deserves its own spot in my August favourites!
Well that's it for my August favourites, I hope you've enjoyed reading thos post!
What products did you love in August?

Benefit Foamingly Clean Facial Wash

Benefit Foamingly Clean Facial Wash
Hey Lovelies,
Hope you are all having a nice weekend! If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may already know that I recently started working for Benefit Cosmetics. A few weeks ago I had my Benefit training which I really enjoyed! As part of our training we learned all about the Benefit B Right skincare range. I've always been a fan of Benefit, but I had never actually tried any of their skincare or even knew much about it before my training. One thing I learned during training which really impressed me is that Benefit's skincare is produced by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy). They are a French company  that own brands such as Christian Dior, Make Up Forever and Sephora. After finding this out, I was sold! We all know French skincare is probably the best on the market, so if a company like LVMH are formulating and producing skincare for Benefit, it's gotta be amazing!
Well as I've recently run out of my face wash, I decided to treat myself to Benefits Foamingly Clean Facial Wash. This product contains amino acids which help soothe the skin, as well as cucumber and jasmin extract that help to brighten and soften the skin. You can really smell the cucumber in this product, it's so fresh I love it!
I've been using Benefits Foamingly Clean Facial Wash every evening after my hot cloth cleanser to wash my face. It removes my make up and other impurities, leaving my face nice and clean. When I'm using drug store face wash, I do find I end up using a lot more product, but as Benefit's Foamingly Clean Facial Wash is so highly concentrated, I only need a pea sized amount of it. It lathers up really well as you can see from the picture and once I rinse it off my skin feels lovely and soft.
The packaging of the Benefit Foamingly Clean Facial Wash is really cute too and inspired by the sea, though I would have preferred the bottle to have a pump because I do seem to have a bit of a thing for products that have a pump and I can imagine it being a bit tricky trying to squeeze every last drop out of the bottle.
All of Benefits products are triple tested and as such also suitable for really sensitive skin. I've got combination skin, and this hasn't broken me out or made my skin feel dry or oily. So if you're on the market for a new facial wash I can really recommend giving Benefits Foamingly Clean Facial Wash a go! I am definitely very impressed with it and highly recommend it!
Benefits Foamingly Clean Facial Wash is available at your nearest Benefit counter for £17.50.
Have you tried Benefit skincare before?
Thanks for reading!
