Vichy Idealia Life Serum
Hey Lovelies,
On the 2nd of July I attended my first ever product launch, which was for the Vichy Idealia Life Serum. The event was held at Paramount which is a restaurant and bar right next to Tottenham Court Road Tube Station. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely Vichy PR team, given a glass of champagne and invited to have a look around at all the Vichy products that were on display. There were make up artists as well as Vichy representatives on hand to tell us more about the products and answer any questions we may have. My all time favourite blogger Tanya Burr was also there and though I did not get a chance to speak to her, she comes across as nice in real life as she does in her videos!
All in all it was an amazing evening that was very well organised, and I had so much fun not only learning more about Vichy, but also getting to meet fellow beauty bloggers. Everyone was so nice and friendly!
Vichy is a brand I am familiar with, but for some reason I had forgotten about them a little, perhaps favouring Clarins and Clinique products for my skincare. This is definitely going to change now I have learned more about the brand and tested out some of their products! Vichy is more affordable than Clarins, but the products they do are also amazing, so bear that in mind next time your are skincare shopping. I know I certainly will!
The product that was being launched at this event was the Vichy Idealia Life Serum and we were all given a goody bag at the end which contained a full size sample of the product.
First things first, let's start with the packaging. The Vichy Idealia Life Serum comes in a luxurious glass bottle and it has a pump. Now I love it when beauty products come with a pump because it makes it a lot easier to control how much you are using, which results in less wastage. The V on the bottle represents Victory against behavioural ageing, and that's exactly what this product claims to do.
Sleepless night, too much partying, drinking, smoking, pollution, an unhealthy diet as well as sun exposure are all factors that age our skin. Vichy have developed the Idealia Life Serum with this in mind. It contains the active ingredients LR2412 and LHA.
LR2412 is said to help your skin repair itself and also improve its ability to protect itself. LHA is derived from salicylic acid and will improve the appearance of your complexion. It has an exfoliating effect that will even out your skintone. The Vichy Idealia Life Serum creates a protective barrier on the surface of your skin that stops external factors from damaging your skin.
Now I'm no scientist (in fact, I failed science at school), but I have given this product a good go and I am very impressed with it. The consistency of the Vichy Idealia Life Serum reminds me of a lightweight lotion. You only need to apply one pump of this product. It absorbs quickly into the skin , leaving it feeling soft and smooth. Vichy advise you can either use this product on its own or before your moisturiser. Where the weather in the UK has been so hot lately, I have not wanted to apply a lot of products to my face so I have been using this without a moisturiser and it's left my skin feeling fresh and looking radiant.
The Vichy Idealia Life Serum has a very subtle fresh floral fragrance. I'm not usually a fan of such scents but this smells really light and fresh, making it a pleasure to apply.
Now I wouldn't say that this product has made a dramatic change to my appearance during the time I have been using it. I am still using my full coverage foundation, and the dark spots I have on my face from years of sunbed use are still there. However my skin does look and feel healthier. What I like the most about the Vichy Idealia Life Serum is that it contains active ingredients that are designed to protect your skin from environmental damage, and that's the main reason why I would recommend this product and will continue using it. Where this product is non-greasy and smooths out your skin, it is also provides a great base for your make up. I find that I can even skip my primer when I use this, but I am making sure I'm using a foundation that contains SPF with the Vichy Idealia Life Serum.
You can buy this product at Boots. It costs £29.50 for 30ml.
Have you tried any Vichy products?

  1. I use the Vichy 3 in 1 micellar solution and the Normaderm foaming cleanser. I think they're really good but I've found similar results for a lower price.

This serum sounds nice though, I'm starting to use serum now so im in the market for one!
