Billion Dollar Brows Brow Gel Review

BDB Brow Gel
Hey Lovelies,
Eyebrows. We all have them. Some people's are too bushy, some people's are too thin. Few of us are lucky enough to be blessed with perfect brows that require no maintenance at all.
Me and my brows, we go back a long way. They are naturally quite dark and thick. I'm talking caterpillars here, not Cara Delevingne. When I was in my early teens many moons ago I started tweezing them. Then I discovered beauty salons and started getting them waxed and shaped there to keep them under control and stop me from looking like Bert off Sesame Street. More recently, perhaps 3 years ago, I started to get my brows threaded on a monthly basis.
I think you would agree that brows have become pretty big over the last couple of years. Rewind back to 5 years ago, I would get my brows done at a beauty salon but I wouldn't use any brow products on them as part of my daily make up routine. How things have changed. Eyebrow pencils, powders and waxes, I have tried them all. And no matter what product I use to fill in my eyebrows, I will always set them using a brow gel.
Now the lovely people from Billion Dollar Brows have sent me their Brow Gel to try out and review for you all. The BDB Brow Gel comes in a clear tube and has a mascara type wand. This product is perfect for you if you are looking for something that will tame your brows and keep them in place throughout the day.
What I love about this brow gel, and what makes it different from the other brow gels I have tried, is that it doesn't leave your brows feeling hard or crunchy. The BDB Brow gel softens your brows whilst keeping them in place, making  them look natural, yet polished and groomed. Some eyebrow gels I have tired I've had to throw out because even though they appeared to be clear, they would leave a white residue on my brows once the product had set. I am very happy to report that this does not happen with the BDB Brow Gel! It dries completely clear and feels very comfortable, which is exactly what I'm looking for in a brow gel.  This product has a pleasant, very gentle cosmetic scent that you hardly notice at all and certainly won't irritate your eyes.
BDB Brow Gel
The BDB Brow Gel is so easy to use. You simply use the brush to work the eyebrow gel through your brows in the direction of the hair growth and style them just how you like them to be. The product applies slightly wet but doesn't even take a minute to dry. You can either use this product on its own or after filling in your eyebrows. Once the product is dry, your brows will stay in place for the whole day. We've been having some pretty hot weather in London for a change, so it's been the perfect time to put this product to the test. Though my foundation has been melting off like crazy in this heat, my brows have stayed put, all thanks to the BDB Brow Gel!
I love the packaging of the BDB Brow  Gel. It looks ever so sleek and elegant and is currently proudly displayed on my dressing table. However I know in a few weeks time the clear gel will be discoloured from my brow powder which I apply before using the brow gel. It's is a shame as the packaging looks so nice and sophisticated but I guess that's what happens when you use a clear brow gel.
The BDB brow gel retails for £17.00 and you can buy it by clicking here. Now I realise that is a lot of money to spend on a brow gel, but this is a salon brand and as such, the products do have salon prices. My previous brow gel however lasted me about a year, and I am expecting the same for this product, so if you break it down to the cost per use price, it's not that expensive at all. Typical beauty blogger logic, right?
What's your favourite brow gel?

  1. Like you I never used to do much beyond getting my brows waxed but I've now moved on to threading and they're touched up with some charcoal brown from Mac.... my brows are dreadful in one part due to a cyst that makes people think I used to have a piercing hence the gap and in another part due to a weird habit of stroking them!

I'm currently using a clear mascara but I definitely need to invest in something specific so I will be adding this to my wish list.

  3. I have the Bobbi Brown one at the moment but I got the tinted one which is a little too dark and looks far too intense so it has been relegated to the stash draw! I've never even heard of this one but love the sound of it :)! X
