Hope you're all well and that you've had a good week! Last week Kirsty from The Style Khalessi put up the Music Tag on her blog. I really enjoyed reading her answers as I love finding out what music people are into, so I've decided to do the tag too and I hope you like it!
What's your favourite type of music? My favourite type of music is Rap/HipHop/Gangsta rap or whatever you chose to call it, but my taste in music has changed quite a bit over the years. The first CD I bought was Michael Jackson's Dangerous album. Well, actually it was a cassette, really showing my age now ha! This was in the very early 90s when I also used to listen to a lot of Prince and Madonna. After a while I really started getting into rock music and Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi and Nirvana were some of my favourite bands for a quite a while. I remember when Kurt Cobain died, I was so distraught! I used to wear a pink studded dog collar when I was a teen. People who know me now are always amazed when I tell them! Anyway, I did outgrow my rock chick phase, which was probably round about when Eminem released the Slim Shady LP in the late 90s. Since then hip hop and rap has been my favourite type of music.
What’s your least favourite type of music?
That's a very easy question to answer! I absolutely hate D&B (the noise just makes me angry grrrr). I'm also not that keen on garage or house music. The music of choice for chavs up and down the country, basically. Oh and I can't stand Rihanna. Quite disappointed she's done a collection with my all time favourite make up brand MAC. I'd much rather they'd picked someone like the stunning Cheryl Cole, but I suppose she is contracted to L'Oreal at the moment. Still MAC, if your reading this: Rihanna, really? I'm sure you could have found someone better with an actual, ahem, talent...
What’s the best gig you’ve been to?
When I was about 12 I was really lucky and got to see Michael Jackson live at Wembley on his Dangerous World tour. I had a massive crush on him at the time (don't ask ok, I clearly had issues as a kid). The show he put on was amazing! Like Kirsty, I also got to see the Spice Girls at the O2 on their reunion tour and it was brilliant, especially as my mate got us VIP tickets and we were sat in the first few rows. The girls were fab and I'm really glad I got to see them live! What albums are you listening to at the moment?
I tend to go through phases of what albums I'm constantly listening to, and at the moment I am listening to Dre's The Chronic 2001 quite a lot on my commute to work. I'm one of those annoying people that always plays their music really loud on the train and a few people have asked me to turn it down. What can I say, some people clearly don't appreciate a good thing when they hear it!What's your favourite bands/artists & favourite albums?
My favourite artists would have to be Eminem, Tupac, Dre and Amy Winehouse. I think Back to Black is one of the best albums of all time. I also love Tupac. He done the original of Me & My Girlfriend, and his version is a million times better than the Jay Z and Beyonce version. I probably listen to his The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory album at least once a week and I have most of his albums downloaded onto my iPod. Dr Dre's The Chronic 2001 is also one of the best albums of all time, and if you haven't heard it yet, go and download is as soon as you've finished reading this post. You won't regret it, it's amazing and full of classic tunes you'll love! I do still really like Eminem, but his first 2 or 3 albums are a lot better than the stuff he's realased over the past 5 over so years. If you could instantly know how to play any instrument, what would it be?
The piano. And I really wish I could sing as well but I can't hold a tune to save my life! Sadly for me I have no musical talent whatsoever!
Well, that's it for the music tag post! Hope you've enjoyed reading it! What music are you into?
