Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer

Hey Everyone,
Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer
I have been using the Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer for about a month now. Like most bloggers, I usually tend to go for the Collection 2000 concealer but I decided that I fancied a bit of a change and bought this at the Clinique Counter when they were running their Bonus Time promotion.
Clinique say this product will minimise the look of lines and wrinkles and will brighten the under eye area. It has a lightweight formula that still provides full coverage.
Now I'm starting to be in that age group where I'm willing to try any products that promise to smooth lines and wrinkles and help you stay looking younger, I decided to give it a go, and I am happy to report that I am very impressed with the Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer

The Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer comes in a clear tube and has a doe tip applicator. I've had this product for about a month now and the packaging still looks as nice as when I bought it. The product hasn't gone messy and the writing hasn't rubbed off, which always seems to happen when I use the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer.
The consistency of the Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer is very thick and creamy, and it covers really well. I bought this concealer in the shade medium, but I have not been using it under my eyes as it is slightly too dark for that. I have been however using it to cover blemishes and hyperpigmentation on my face, and it works great for that.
Clinique advise that their Line Smoothing Concealer will brighten the under eye area. This made me a little cautious because you should never use brightening concealers to cover spots or breakouts on your face, unless you are looking to highlight them (which I am pretty sure no one is!). Well I needn't have worried, this product works perfect on blemishes and does not higlight them at all!

Here you can see the Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer swatched on my highly fake tanned arm. It comes in 4 different shades. My shade is the colour medium, but as you can see it does come out quite dark. And below is a picture of the product blended out. In spite of it being a  full coverage, thick concealer, it goes on really smooth and blends really well. I've not had any issues with it looking cakey at all and I really like the way this product sits on my skin.It smooths out my skin and does not sit in any fine lines or pores like some concealers do.
The second most important thing to me after coverage when buying a concealer is how long it lasts. The Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer is very long wearing and does not fade throughout the day which I'm very pleased about!
So if you are on the market for a new concealer, and don't mind spending a bit more, I do suggest giving this product a go.
This retails for £15.00 which is quite a lot for a concealer, but I reckon this product will last you ages. I've been using it every day for the past month, and I still have plenty of it left. I reckon I'll get at least 3 months use out of this if not more.
What's your favourite concealer?

  1. Oooh I think I need to try this! I love concealers! I go between collection 2000, Mac & Benefit but I'm always on the look out for new ones to try. Really want to try the new Nars one too! My pale skin highlights the bags under my eyes so I feel like concealer is one of the most important things in my makeup bag. I don't mind goin expensive if it makes me look less dead! Fab post as usual babe xox

  3. That does look like a dark medium. I'm surprised they only have four shades to choose from. Glad to hear it's not cakey, though. Good review! Thanks.

  10. Ooh, I like the sound of this. I've got some pesky lines under my eyes (probably thanks to too much squinting at beauty blogs..the irony!), not to mention the dreaded dark circles, and I'm always on the lookout for something that will do the trick. At the moment I really love the Mac Pro Longwear, which does a great job at hiding dark areas, but I am yet to see anything make a difference to the lines.
    Added to shopping list! :)

  11. Sounds fab! These doe foot concealers are so handy and at the moment I only really use pot concealers which are terrible when you're trying to use them on the go. I'll have to swatch this next time I'm shopping - definitely very intrigued!
