I hope you are all well and having a nice weekend!
Today's post is going to be my first ever NOTD (Nails of the Day) post. If you've seen my Payday Haul post you'll know that I recently had my acrylic nails taken off and stopped getting Shellac done in a bid to save a bit of money. So far that's not really worked out though as I have spent the money I've saved by not going to the nail salon on nail polish instead!
One of the polishes I picked up was Where's My Chauffeur by Essie and I'm absolutely loving this colour!Essie describe Where's My Chauffeur as an 'opulent turquoise'. Personally the colour of it reminds me a lot of Tiffany & Co. jewellery boxes, which is perhaps one of the reasons why I'm loving it so much!
As I've only recently started painting my own nails I am by no means a pro but here are the products I've used on them for this NOTD post.
For my base coat I used the A&E Protein Treatment by Nails Inc. This treatment helps nourish brittle and damaged nails which is probably quite useful for me after having acrylic nails for so long. You only need one coat of this on your nails and I let it dry for a few minutes before applying my polish.
For my colour I applied 2 coats of Where's My Chauffeur by Essie.
The top coat I used was the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat. I've done a separate review on this which you can read by clicking here. I cannot praise this product enough as it doesn't only dry your polish in a matter of minutes, but it also makes the polish look more nice and shiny and helps it last longer.
And here is the final result!
I'm really enjoying being able to change up the colour of my nails a few times a week which I never really did when I had acrylics (I always used to go for pink and white).
I'm definitely planning on picking up a few more colours next time I'm at Boots so I'd love to hear your nail polish recommendations in the comments below.
I hope you enjoyed my first NOTD post and thank you for reading!
