My 2013 Clarins Favourites

Hey Lovelies,
I am having an incredibly hard time narrowing down my favourites for 2013. There are simply too many products I have loved this year. Some of the stand out brands for me throughout the year have been Clarins, Origins and Benefit Cosmetics. Rather than putting all products into one massive blog post, I have decided to split my favourites into brands. My first post was all about my Benefit Cosmetics favourites which you can read by clicking here. Today I'm going to be sharing with you the Clarins products I have been loving in 2013. I've been a huge fan of Clarins products since my mid 20s, so you could say I am pretty familiar with the brand. Clarins is who I credit when people ask me what my secret is for looking so young. I turned 33 this month, but people always assume I'm about 25 which is obviously a massive ego boost for me haha.
Clarins Multi Active Day Cream
Clarins Multi Active Day Cream, 50ml, RRP £40.00 (Link)
I love this day cream and have been using it for many years. It's available in different formulas depending on your skin type. Unlike many day creams I have tried this year, the Clarins Multi Active Day Cream is one of the few moisturisers I have in my collection which contain an SPF. The texture of the Clarins Multi Active Day Cream is very rich and thick, however the product isn't greasy at all and absorbs beautifully into my skin when I apply it. Clarins claim that this cream will not only prevent, but also correct the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Judging by my complexion and the fact that I have used this product religiously over the past 5 years or so, their claim is definitely true and if you are in your late 20s or early 30s, I cannot recommend this product enough.
Clarins Multi Active Night Youth Recovery Cream
Clarins Multi Active Night Cream, 50ml RRP £43.00 (Link)
This is by far the best ever night cream I have used. It is formulated to restore the elasticity and radiance of your skin while you sleep. It's basically the night version of the Clarins Multi Active Day Cream. Unlike the Day Cream, the Clarins Multi Active Night Cream does not contain an SPF. It is a rich moisturiser which absorbs really well into my skin. I apply this product at bed time and when I wake up in the morning my skin feels smooth and refreshed. I know Clarins skincare is expensive but as it delivers results I am more than happy to spend my money on their products. After all, premium beauty skincare is still cheaper than a face lift haha and one of these jars lasts me a good 6 months or so.
Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser
Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser, 100ml, RRP £18.00 (Link)
I have tried a lot of lovely facial cleansers this year, but my favourite has to be the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser. This facial wash is water based and has a mousse like texture which leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft when I rinse it off. It is formulated for Normal to Combination skin. The texture of this product is very thick, and I only need about a pea sized amount to work up a rich lather. I love how this cleanser removes dirt as well as make up really well. It even dissolves Benefit's They're Real mascara off my lashes which is well know for being a bit of a nightmare to get off!
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
Clarins Beauty Balm Flash, 50ml, RRP £29.00 (Link)
This is one of Clarins best known and most iconic products and I can easily see why. Clarins Beauty Balm Flash contains olive and witch hazel extracts. These ingredients are designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I apply this product in the morning after my moisturiser but before my primer and I really feel that it brightens and tightens my complexion. Since introducing the Clarins Beauty Balm Flash to my skincare and make up routine, I have had quite a few compliments on how well I look!
Well that's it for my favourite Clarins products of 2013. Which Clarins products have you been loving in 2013?

My 2013 Benefit Cosmetics Favourites

Hey Lovelies,
Some of you might already know that I started working for Benefit Cosmetics this year. The job is so much fun, I get to meet lots of different people every day and do make up which is something I love! Since I started working for Benefit, I have discovered more and more of their amazing products, so I thought I'd do a little blog post for you all sharing with you my favourite Benefit products of 2013. These are products I wear every day and they aren't just loved by me but by our customers as well!
Benefit Porefessional is the best selling primer in the UK, and I have raved about it before on my blog so it's no surprise it's made it into my Benefit 2013 Favourites. Porefessional is a silicone based primer that smooths out your skin and leaves it feeling incredibly silky. You can wear it on its own or underneath your make up. If you are wearing it underneath your make up like I do, it will help keep your make up on for longer. Porefessional contains Vitamin E, so it's also good for your skin. I love it so much I've even bought my mum a tube of it for Christmas!
Benefit Brow Zings is a product I loved even before I started working on a Benefit counter. Brow Zings consists of a water resistant wax that keeps eyebrow hairs in place, as well as a powder to colour them in. I mix a bit of the wax and the powder together on an angled brow brush so they form a paste, dab off the excess and fill in my brows. Once you have filled in your brows with Brow Zings, they will stay on the whole day. I even have Brow Zings on my brows when I go down the gym! I used to use pencil to fill in my eyebrows, but now that I've discovered Brow Zings, I don't think I will go back to brow pencils ever again!
Rockateur was released earlier this year and it's the perfect rose gold blush. I love how the colour is buildable. It has a gorgeous sheen to it that and suits just about every skin tone! Out of all of Benefit's Boxo Powders, Rockateur is probably my favourite. I apply it all over my face in a 3 motion and then build up the colour on the cheeks for a natural yet bronzed look.
Benetint is a lip and cheek stain. It's one of the first products Benefit ever bought out was originally used by an exotic dancer in a San Fransisco club as a nipple stain. When she noticed that all the other dancers in the club with more, erm, rosey nipples were making more money than her, she started applying Benetint to her nipples. Needless to say the men loved it and her takings went up! Personally I love Benetint because I have really pale lips, and as soon as my lipstick begins to fade I start resembling a ghost. I use Benetint underneath my lipstick or lipgloss. It stains the lips, so the colour lasts all day. Benetint also has a lovely rose scent, and even though the colour appears to be very deep and dark in the bottle, it looks a lot more natural when you apply it to your lips. You can also wear Benetint on the cheeks, but I prefer it on my lips as I like using powder products on my cheeks. My Benetint is only the small sample size, but as soon as it runs out I will be investing in a full size bottle!
So that's it for my Benefit 2013 favourites. Benefit are always releasing new products, so I am really excited what they have in store for us in 2014! I know Gimme Brow and Lollitint are due for release early in the year which I'm already so excited about. What are your favourite Benefit products?

My Primer Collection

Hey Lovelies,
Today's post is going up be on my primer collection. Earlier in the year I decided that using primer wasn't essential but more of a luxury and started skipping that step in my make up routine, but it wasn't long before I realised what a big mistake I was making. My foundation wasn't staying on as long as I need it to, my make up was sitting in my pores and I was getting a lot of shine in my t-zone. Needless to say I went back to using foundation primers, and here are my thoughts on all the ones which I currently have in my collection.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, 30ml, RRP £25.00 (link)
I work next to a Smashbox counter and am constantly eyeing up their amazing products. Primers is perhaps the product they are most famous for, and I can easily see why. Smashbox have a primer for pretty much every skin type and skincare concern, from oil free to hydrating to blemish control and more! The one I own is their regular Photo Finish Foundation Primer. This primer is clear and contains Vitamins A and E, grape seed extract and green tea. When I  apply it to my skin, it leaves it feeling smooth and creates a prefect base for my foundation. My make up lasts longer when I have this on, and my T-zone is less shiny.
Benefit Porefessional, 22ml, RRP £24.50 (link)
I can't believe it took me so long to try out Benefit's Porefessional primer, especially considering it's the number one selling primer in the UK. I think what was putting my off was the packaging. I don't really like the lady pictured on the tube haha. However, now that I have tried Porefessional, I am well and truly converted and can finally understand what all the hype is about.  This is by far the best foundation primer I have ever come across. It's oil free and contains silica which absorbs excess oils. If that isn't enough, Porefessional also contains the antioxidant Vitamin E to help protect your skin against environmental damage. I apply about a pea sized amount of it on my face after my moisturiser but before my foundation. My make up goes on a lot smoother when I use Porefessional, the size of my pores is visibly reduced. It also helps to prevent my T-zone from getting shiny. This primer is amazing and I can't recommend it enough. All our customers on the Benefit counter love it too, and if you haven't tried it yet, you are really missing out!
Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch, 15ml, RRP £26.00 (link)
The consistency of this primer is quite thick and it looks like a pink toned paste. I find this too thick to apply all over my face so I only use it on problem areas where I have fine lines or visible pores. I love the packaging of the Clarins primer, it comes in a cute little glass jar, however as for the product itself I prefer Benefit's Porefessional. Basically the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch does the same thing as Porefessional. Only Porefessional does it better.
Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer, 50ml, RRP £28.00 (link)
I usually love Laura Mercier products, but their oil free foundation primer is a waste of money in my opinion. It just doesn't do anything for my skin. Apparently it's supposed to create an invisible layer between your face and your foundation, but to me there's no difference if I use this primer or not. The only reason I have not parted with this is because it was pretty expensive, so I am keeping hold of it and letting it clutter my make up collection. Maybe it's just not suitable for my skin type, but if I ever manage to use this up I know I won't be repurchasing it.
So as you can see, Porefessional is clearly my all time favourite foundation primer and the one I reach for the most. Smashbox come in as a close second.
Do you use foundation primer? Which ones are your favourites?

How I Spend My Christmas Tag

Hey Lovelies,
Hope you're all having a good week and keeping nice and warm in this freezing weather. Can you believe Christmas is less than 2 weeks away? Before we know it it's gonna be 2014! A few weeks back Hannah who runs a blog called Beginners Beauty tagged me in her How I Spend My Christmas post. I'm really enjoying reading everyone's Christmas posts this month, so I thought it's time I do this tag to! Here are my answers to all the questions, hope you enjoy reading them!
1. What are you usually up to on Christmas Eve?
My Christmas eve is probably a little different to most other people because my family celebrates Christmas German style, which means getting your presents on Christmas eve. My mum is German, and even though my dad is the catholic in the family she always insists we celebrate Christmas the German way, so on Christmas eve I'll be tucking into some German Christmas cookies and getting my presents!
2. Who do you spend your Christmas day with?
I will be spending this Christmas with my cat Billie (pictured), my mum ze German, my dad and my lil bro. My parents always invite their friends round for Christmas dinner (turkey and all that), so I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing them on Christmas day too.
3. Do you enjoy giving or receiving gifts?
Well, obviously my favourite part of Christmas is receiving gifts. I'd be lying if I claimed otherwise.
4. What does your outfit consist of on Christmas day?
Something smart with and elasticated waist (maybe leggings and a dress), so I can stuff my face with Christmas dinner as much as possible without being sick.
5. Do you enjoy shopping for your loved ones gifts?
Well that depends. I like buying stuff for my mum because I always get her perfume, make up or skincare which is fun to buy. My dad and my brother are a nightmare because they never tell me what they want. I've bought my dad a Dior fragrance this year as well as a Garfield calendar. If my brother doesn't let me know what he wants soon he will be getting a lump of coal.
6. Have you ever received a gift you disliked and pretended you liked it?
Yes, like when I get given make up that's not to my taste I'm like wow that's amazing when I know full well I'll be taking it down to the charity shop on boxing day. I'm a bit more honest with my mum though. One year she bought me a book on birds, so I could see what birds are in the garden. I was like literally WTF, especially as I have never ever expressed an interest in birds in my whole life. But my mum does the same to me. If she doesn't like what I got her she asks me for the receipt. It's a German thing.
7. What would your ideal Christmas be?
One where I get a staffie. If you follow me on Twitter you will know all about my obsession with staffies.
8. What is your least favourite thing about Christmas?
I work on a make up counter and I really love my job, however we are not allowed any holiday or weekends off in December or November. It's seems like forever ago I had a whole weekend off, so even though I am loving how busy it is at work at the moment, I am looking forward to hopefully having a weekend off in January!
9. What is the best gift you ever received?
There's no particular gift that sticks out. Next question.
10. If you could choose one person to spend Christmas with who would it be and why? (Other than family)
I would chose my cat Jessie who sadly passed away over 2 years ago. I know she's not a person but she was my best friends and I still miss her every day so that's who I'd pick.
Well these are all my answers. These are the bloggers I'm tagging to do this post:
Kirsty from The Style Khalessi
Seraphina from Lil Miss Lifestyle
Shree from Porcelain Shree
Let me know if you put up the post, I'd love to read your answers!

NARS Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo

NARS Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo
Hey Lovelies,
Last week my local department store had 10% off all cosmetics, and of course I couldn't resist popping down to the NARS counter and making a cheeky little purchase!
I treated myself to their Kalahari eyeshadow duo which consists of these two gorgeous neutral shades. The first shade is a lovely bronze colour, the second one a taupe that reminds me a lot of MAC's Satin Taupe eyeshadow.
NARS Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo Swatches
Both shades in the NARS Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo are very pigmented and blend really well. The formula of both shades is very creamy, however the bronze shade is slightly more shimmery than the taupe shade. I've found a nice way to wear this eyeshadow duo is by applying the bronze shade on the lid and blending the taupe shade through the crease. As both of the colours are on the shimmery side, I prefer using a separate matte white eyeshadow to highlight my browbone and inner corner. MAC Gesso works well for this.
I've been priming my lids with the Urban Decay Primer Potion and I've not had a problems with the eyeshadows creasing or fading throughout the day.
I'm sure I'm not the first or the last person to say this, but the one thing that I wish NARS would change about their products is the packaging! Those rubbery plastic cases are impossible to keep clean and begin to look grubby really quickly. However other than that I am still a massive fan of the brand and there are quite a few more of their eyeshadow duos I have my eye on, so I can definitely see myself investing in a few more of these in the new year!
If you're a fan of neutral easy to wear eyeshadow colours like me, I'd definitely recommend checking out the NARS Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo! It retails for £25.00 and is available online as well as at your nearest NARS counter.
Do you have any NARS eyeshadow duos in your collection? Which ones are your favourite?
I hope you've enjoyed this post and thanks for reading!

Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors

Hey Lovelies,
Working in a beauty hall is very dangerous. I am constantly surrounded by amazing brands and products, and my wish list is ever growing. I was actually planning on investing in some YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks, seeing as everyone plus their dog seems to be raving about them. So I swatched a few shades at the YSL counter. Don't get me wrong they are lovely lipsticks, but they just didn't wow me as much as a I thought they would. Yes, the packaging is gorgeous, they are very pigmented and feel lovely on the lips, but I don't really wanna spend 24 pounds on a YSL lipstick if I can get a MAC one for 15.
However, when I tried the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors for the first time, it was an entirely different story.  You could say even say it was love at first application haha. If you read my blog on a regular basis you will probably already know that Clarins is one of my favourite skincare brands, but I never thought of getting any make up products from Clarins. For my cosmetics I tend to stick to brands like MAC and Benefit. But the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors may well change all that. Not only do they have the most amazing sweet cookie scent, but they also don't dry your lips out or make them feel horrible and sticky like many lip gloss type products do. The scent isn't overpowering or sickly sweet, so even if you don't like cookies (and let's be honest who doesn't like cookies), it shouldn't put you off.
The Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors are very long wearing for a lipgloss type product and I get about 2 hours out of them before I need to reapply. I love how the gel formula of this product leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturised whilst adding just the right amount of colour as well nice sheen to my lips.
The Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors are available in 6 different shades. After trying out all the shades at the Clarins counter, I decided to treat myself to shade 3 (Nude Shimmer) and shade 6 (Rosewood Shimmer).  As they say picture tells a thousand words, so here are swatches of both shades for you to see what you think.
Shade 3 Nude Shimmer is, as the name suggests, very nude and sheer and I thought it would look nice worn ontop of lipstick.

Shade 6 Rosewood Shimmer is my favourite out of the range. It's my perfect everyday colour and I'm been wearing it all the time! Not even my MAC lipsticks are getting a look in now haha!
Clarins Lip Perfector in Shade 6 Rosewood Shimmer
My only criticism of the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors is the applicator.
The product has a soft sponge applicator which applies the product nicely on the lips, however it's not exactly the most hygienic of type of applicator. I can always squeeze the product out of the tube and apply it using my fingers or a brush though so it's not exactly the end of the world and it certainly does not put me off because I love the formula and everything else about the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors
For me, this product is totally worth the hype and I can't believe it's taken me so long to get my hands on these! They retail for £17 and are available at your nearest Clarins counter as well as online.
Have you tried  the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors? What are your thoughts?

Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm

Hey Lovelies,
Hope you're all having a good week! Today's post is going to be a review of the Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm which I was kindly sent for review. Melvita is not a brand I was familiar with before I started blogging, but since discovering their products I have become quite a big fan! Melvita is a French skincare company and all their products are organic and paraben free. The Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm contains royal jelly, cocoa butter and stevia leaf, as well as 3 different types of honey (thyme, acacia and orange blossom). These ingredients have been formulated to hydrate and nourish dry skin and that's exactly what my skin needs during this time of year.
Thyme, Acacia and Orange Blossom
Thyme, Acacia and Orange Blossom
I use a lot of fake tan which can be quite drying on my skin. Like most people, my skin also tends to feel a lot drier in the winter months. I have found that using the Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm makes a big difference to my skin. I am applying this body balm on the days when I am not fake tanning which is about 3 times a week and it keeps my skin feeling soft and moisturised. I must admit I was slightly worried about the fact that this body balm contains a blend of 3 different types of honey as I don't especially want to rub anything into my skin that will leave it feeling sticky, but I was pleasantly surprised because this product does not make my skin feel sticky at all. The Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm has a thick texture, and once I rub it into my skin it absorbs really well. I love using it after shaving my legs because it leaves them feeling extra smooth!
Now for me, one of the most important things when using a moisturiser is that it will not ruin my beloved fake tan, and I am happy to report that the Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm preformed well in my fake tan test and did not leave me looking patchy the way some moisturisers do. It also has quite a subtle sherbet scent which isn't perhaps my favourite, but that might be because I am used to body butters that are strongly fragranced, and I do appreciate that this product is organic and really good for my poor skin that has to endure constant fake tan abuse haha.
I know that this body balm is more on the pricey side. It retails for £22 for 150ml, but a little really goes a long way when you use it so this pot will last me quite a while, especially as I don't use it every day.
The Melvita Apicomsa Ultra Nourishing Body Balm is packaged in a white plastic tub with a gold lid. It's perhaps not the most luxurious packaging I have ever seen, and considering that the body balm does have a premium beauty price tag I would have preferred it if it came in slightly prettier packaging, but other than that I am loving the results I'm getting from using it.
Have you tried any Melvita products?

Origins GinZing Eye Cream

Origins GinZing Eye Cream
Hey Lovelies,
Today's post is all about the Origins GinZing Eye Cream which I was lucky enough to receive when I attended an Origins event in Mayfair last month. Origins is a brand that I love and I'm always impressed with their products, so I was really excited to try out this eye cream, especially as I already love their Plantscription Eye Cream which I've reviewed here. Unlike the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser, the Origins GinZing Eye Cream doesn't have a citrus scent to it.
I've been using this eye cream for a few weeks now. It's very different to a lot of the other eye creams I have tried because it contains optic brighteners which brighten the under eye area and instantly reduce the appearance of dark circles. The ingredients include Caffeine from Coffee beans, Panax Ginseng and Magnolia Extract. According to the Origins website, these ingredients will help refresh and awaken tired eyes.
I have found that this eye cream feels light and soft when I apply it to my under eye area. It sinks into my skin very quickly and I love how it instantly brightens my eyes and makes me look more awake, even if I've had a bad nights sleep.
However because the formula of the Origins GinZing Eye Cream has no anti ageing properties in it, I am only using this as my morning eye cream which is what Origins recommend anyway. In the evenings I am still sticking with my Plantscription Eye Cream.
As you can see from from the picture below, the Origins GinZing Eye Cream has slight pink undertones to it. It leaves a sheen  when you apply it, but don't worry , this effect is quite subtle and wont leave you with shimmer under your eyes. It will simply make you look more bright eyed and bushy tailed! This eye cream is quite hydrating, but I am not sure if it will have any long term benefits or permanently reduce the appearance of my dark under eye circles. Having said that, I am loving the immediate results I get from using this product!
The Origins GinZing Eye Cream retails for £23.00 for 15ml. Now that might seem like a lot of money, but for an eye cream 15ml is a very reasonable amount. Because you only use it under your eyes, you barely even need a pea sized amount for each application, so this little pot should last you around 6 months if you use it on a daily basis. Most eye creams on the market need to be used every day for at least 3 weeks before you start seeing any results. If you are looking for a quick fix that offers instant results, the Origins GinZing Eye Cream is definitely a product I'd recommend checking out or perhaps even popping on your Christmans list!
Have you tried this product? What do you think of it? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco Topical-Riche Masque

Bumble and Bumbe Creme de Coco Topical-Riche Masque
Hey Lovelies,
Hope you're all well and having a good week so far! Today's post is going to be a quick review of the Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco Topical-Riche Masque which I recently picked up in Boots. This product is a weekly conditioning treatment for dry hair. If your hair is fine or oily, this product may not be for you. However if you have dry hair like me, read on.
After you've washed your hair, you leave the Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco Topical-Riche Masque on for about 7 minutes before rinsing it off. If your hair is especially dry you can even leave this mask on overnight. This product contains mango and shea butters, coconut and avocado oils as well as botanical extracts. Now you would think that ingredients like this would make your hair a greasy mess, but you couldn't be more wrong! The Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco Topical-Riche Masque leaves my hair feeling really soft and looking nice and glossy. The texture of this product is light, yet creamy, making it a pleasure to apply. I usually keep this on for about 10 minutes before I rinse it off. As it doesn't feel heavy or sticky on my hair so I could easily keep it on for longer. The only reason I don't is because it's winter at the moment and I don't fancy sitting around with wet hair for too long haha!
What made me chose this hair mask over some of the others in the Bumble and Bumble range is the smell. As the name suggests, the Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco Topical-Riche Masque has an amazing coconut scent which reminds me of being on holiday. This mask will set you back £22.50 for 150ml. Now I know that that's quite a lot of money to pay for a hair mask, but I've recently started getting into high end hair care and I think it's worth the money because the condition of my hair has improved quite a lot since I've started using more expensive hair care. I have less split ends and my hair finally seems to be growing! This is obviously great news for my hair, but sad news for my bank balance as I am pretty sure I will be investing in a lot more Bumble products in the future.
Have you tried any Bumble and Bumble products? Which ones do you recommend?
I hope you've enjoyed this post and thanks for reading!

Christian Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm

Christian Dior Creme de Rose lip balmHey Lovelies,
The other day I made the mistake of going to the Dior counter while I was on my lunch break at work. I had no intention of buying anything but then I tried the Dior Creme de Rose lip balm and all good intentions went flying out the window. I've heard quite a few bloggers raving about this product and now I am the proud owner of it I thought I'd do a little review and let you know what I think of this rather pricey lip balm. Well, first of all I can confirm that this is by far the most luxurious lip balm I have ever used! (Yes, you cynics out there are quite right in saying that for £20, it better had be haha!).
The Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm contains Damask Rose essential oil extract and Shea butter. According to the Dior website, these ingredients will leave your lips feeling moisturised, plumped and soft. Now I certainly agree that this lip balm softens and moisturises my lips, but I am not so sure about the plumping part as I have not noticed my lips being any fuller whilst I've been using this product. But then again, I don't really fancy looking like Courtney Stodden anyway so maybe that's a good thing haha! As the name suggest, the Dior Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm does have a subtle rose scent to it which might not be everyone's cup of tea. However I really like the smell, otherwise I wouldn't have wasted my precious Boots points on it!

For those of you who like swatches here's what the lip balm looks like on the lips. As you can see, it doesn't really add any colour except maybe a slight pink sheen to the lips. The sheen does fade quite quickly though.
Christian Dior Creme de Rose lip balm
What I like about this product is that it really moisturises and softens my lips. The consistency of this is very thick, but it still has a soft texture that absorbs well into my lips without making them feel sticky. It also makes a great primer for lipstick!
The one negative thing I have to say about this product is the packaging. It comes in a really simple off-white plastic pot with a screw top lid. Most Christian Dior products have stunning packaging. I just think that for a £20 lip balm they could have really made a bit more of an effort. The plastic doesn't feel cheap but I would have preferred it to look a little bit more glamorous. This is a Christian Dior product after all!
Now I know if I wanted some lip balm I could have bought a pot of Vaseline or Carmex, but where would the fun be in that eh? I am pretty pleased with my little purchase (thank you Boots points!), and if you are a lover of lip balms or looking for a luxurious product to add to your make up bag, I'd recommend checking out Dior's Creme de Rose lip balm. With Christmas almost around the corner, it would even make the perfect stocking filler for any beauty lover!
What do you think of this lip balm? Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for reading!

Ojon Super Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner

Ojon Super Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner
Hey Lovelies!
Over the last few months I have been dabbling in high end hair care. Since then not only does my hair seem to have had a bit of a growth spurt, but the condition of my hair also improved, so I definitely think that high end hair care and salon brands are worth the extra money. I was using the salon exclusive Paul Mitchell Curls range before, but as I recently had my hair relaxed and it is now no longer curly, I decided to switch over to the Ojon Super Sleek shampoo and conditioner. This range has been designed to seal in moisture and leave your hair looking smooth, sleek and frizz-free.
The Ojon Super Sleek Smoothing Shampoo is sulfate free, but unlike many other sulfate free shampoos I've tried, it still lathers up nicely when you use it. This shampoo contains Ojon Oil and Plant Keratin and is designed to cleanse your hair and keep it moisturised at the same time. Don't be fooled by the rather runny consistency of this shampoo, I only need to use about the same amount as a 50p coin to cleanse my hair with the Ojon Super Sleek Shampoo. It has a lovely fresh scent and leaves my hair feeling soft and smelling great.
The Ojon Super Sleek Smoothing Conditioner does a brilliant job at conditioning and softening my hair without weighing it down. Like the Ojon Super Sleek Smoothing Shampoo, it also contains Ojon Oil and Plant Keratin. The consistency of this conditioner is quite thick and creamy, but it's very easy to distribute through your hair, and as with the shampoo I only need about a 50p coin sized amount every time I use it. This conditioner promises to protect your hair from the effects of humidity (ie frizz) for up to 8 hours. Just like the shampoo, the Ojon Super Sleek conditioner also has a fresh scent to it. In fact, both products have almost an identical smell!
One of the things I noticed since I've been using the Ojon Super Sleek range is that it's taking me less time to blow dry my hair than before. Now that's a great thing because it means I am spending less time applying heat to my hair. My hair feels really soft, light and managable. I love how these 2 products cleanse, condition and moisturise my hair without weighing it down or leaving it feeling sticky.
All in all I have to say I am really impressed with these 2 products from the Ojon Super Sleek Smoothing range and will definitely checking out more haircare from Ojon in the future.
They are pricey (£21.00 for the shampoo and £23.00 for the conditioner), but I have found the quality is amazing and they are lasting me longer than drugstore shampoos and conditioners do, so I am happy to pay more. I bought my Ojon products from Boots.
Have you tried anything from the Ojon range? If you have let me know which other products you would recommend.
Thanks for reading!

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser
Hey Lovelies,
A couple of weeks ago I was incredibly lucky to get invited to an Origins event which was held at the Leica Gallery in Mayfair. I nearly wasn't able to go because I was on the late shift at work that day, but luckily a last minute rota change meant I had a day off, and even though I felt a bit of a cold coming on I still went along to the event as Origins is, together with Clarins, my favourite skincare brand. So as you can probably imagine, I was incredibly excited about this event!
Upon arrival at the Leica Gallery, the guests, which included make up artists, bloggers and press were greeted by the Origins PR team treated to some lovely cocktails and canapes. We were introduced to the Origins team and learned a little more about the brand. If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen that Origins also organised a Pick and Mix of their products at the event. It's pretty safe to say this is the best Pick and Mix I've ever seen, and everyone at the event got an extremely generous goody bag full of Origins products to take home. I'm going to review all those products separately for you, and today's post is going to be all about the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser which I chose from the Pick and Mix.
Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser
I picked the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser for my goody bag because it's a beauty blogger favourite and I've been pretty keen to find out what all the fuss is about. Well, after using this product daily for the past 2 weeks I am happy to say that the Origins GinZing  Moisturiser certainly lives up to the hype surrounding it! This product contains Panax Ginseng and Coffee Beans to help refresh your skin and keep you hydrated and looking radiant. It's completely oil free and has a lovely cirtus scent to it. Now as the scent of this product is quite strong, I can imagine it not being to everyone's taste. However personally I love the smell of this Origins moisturiser and it makes a nice change from the floral scents many skincare products seem to have. I would say that the Origins GinZing moisturiser has more of a gel rather than a cream texture, perhaps even sitting somewhere in between the two. It absorbs really quickly into my skin when I apply it and makes a perfect base for my make up.
Now as my skin type is combination it can be quite difficult for me to find products that are moisturing enough but don't leave my face looking oily. I work on an airconditioned shop floor and the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser has been keeping me hydrated all day long. I have also noticed that my T-zone has become less oily since I started using this product. I never really thought I'd find a product that comes close to my Clarins Multi Active Day Cream, but Origins are really giving Clarins a run for their money with this moisturiser!
The Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser retails for £23.00. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that high end skincare is becoming more and more expensive. Well done Origins for bringing out an amazing high end moisturiser that doesn't break the bank. Other brands seriously need to take note. You can use this moisturiser morning and night, but as I am in my early 30s (nearly 33 now - argh!!) I would rather use a product with anti aging properties in the evenings, so this will just be a daytime moisturiser for me. The only thing I'd change about the product is perhaps adding an SPF to it, but other than that I am happy to say I have found another favourite to add to my ever growing list of Origins products I love!
What are your favourite Origins products?
I hope you've enjoyed this post and thanks for reading!

Hey Lovelies,

I really hope you'll enjoy these posts and that you discover some amazing new blogs to read! I have always been interested in the world of make up and beauty but even more so as I'm getting older, and I can honestly say, I think that may job has aided this obsession! I deal with make-up every single day but be well assured my bank balance has been feeling it! My purse practically tries to run away from me!
My main passion is definitely beauty, that's the sole reason I started my blog (and YouTube channel) The excitement of trying something new is incredible, gives me a real buzz! I think I may even have a slight shopping addition. Over the last month or so though I have really started to try and branch out my blog to other things such as fashion with the odd lifestyle post chucked in for good measure, as I truly enjoy those elements too!
I have such a bubbly personality, that’s what my friends & family tell me anyway! I hope it comes through in my posts, as that is seriously important to me and I utterly love blogging, its a passion for sure. When your a child and asked “What do you want to be when your older?” I never knew, but now, I know. I want to be a blogger, and tell the world about what products that they need to have on their dressings tables.
