Project 10 Pan

Hey everyone!

Project 10 Pan is the creation of the lovely Laura from Buy Now Blog Later. She came up with Project 10 Pan when she still had her YouTube channel. It's for those of us who own way too much make up. The idea behind Project 10 Pan is that you are banned from buying any make up products, until you've completely used up 10 products from your collection.
I started Project 10 Pan back in April, after realising that I have more make up than I will ever be able to use up. Initially I chose 10 items I wanted to finish. Amongst that was my Laguna Bronzer from NARS (which I had hit pan on), pictured below:
This product is however a bit like a bottomless pit. I use it every day, but I don't seem to be able to finish it! So I changed the project round slightly, with the aim of using up any 10 products from my collection (rather than pre determined products).

I didn't include mascaras or any MAC products as part of my 10 products. I go through mascara quite quick. When I use up 6 MAC products I swap them for a lipstick at MAC, so I decided not to include MAC products in this either.

So here's what I've used up:
Revlon PhotoReady Foundation in Golden Beige
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab
Laura Mercier Peach Mosaic Shimmer Bloc
Maybelline Lipstick in Natural Rosewood
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Medium
Revlon Lipbutter in Berry Smoothie
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach
L'Oreal Glam Shine Lipgloss in Sheer Cassis
L'Oreal Super Liner Carbon Gloss
Max Factor Master Touch Undereye Concealer
I haven't bought any make up since I started this project.

Sadly I don't think I saved any money during Project 10 Pan though. As I wasn't spending my cash on make up, I had more to spend on clothes and skincare...

Even though I didn't really save any money, I still found doing Project 10 Pan a pretty good experience for me. I can now walk through Boots, Superdrug or department stores without being overcome with this massive urge to buy more make up! It's a bit like rehab for make up addicts I guess!

Thank you Laura for coming up with this project!

Well I'm so excited I'm finally allowed to buy make up again, so I need your recommendations please! Haul post coming soon :)

  1. I admire you for not including mascara in this if you know that they are things you would use up quickly.

Did you like the Bobbi Brown corrector? I've been tempted by them recently.
I wasn't too much of a fan of the Revlon lip butters when they first came out but I'm starting to really enjoy them now and they have such a wide ranger of colours!

    1. Yea the Bobbi Brown corrector is really good, expensive though! I'm using a orange cream blush (MAC Cream colour base in Fabulush) under my eyes at the moment with concealer on top of it and that works too! (red/orange canceles out the dark circles)
I thought the Revlon Lip Butter was ok, so easy to use up though! Think I'm gonna try to L'Oreal equivalent next :) xx

    2. The Caresse lipsticks? I love those! I thought I liked them a lot more than the Revlon lip butters at first but I've come to like both. The L'Oreal ones are smaller though, so I find them easier/neater to apply.
I've never thought about using a cream blush as a concealer.. Right now I'm just using a couple of the Collection ones but I don't think I like them too much. x

    3. Yea the Caresse ones, they look really nice! That's what I think they look smaller so i thought they'd be easier to apply like you say :)
Yea it's weird I didn't believe it at first but it really does work! Have you tried the Garnier Roll on Concealer I love that! I like the Collection concealers but there are better ones out there. I guess they're good value for money though. Think with undereye concealer it always should be pink based (like NWs from MAC) cos that hides dark circles best :) xx

  4. Hey lovely thank you! Love the NARS Sheer glow. It's really similar to the Revlon PotoReady, I'd repurchase either of these foundations :) The only products I wouldn't repurchase from this are the lip products and the Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc (I prefer the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks!) xx

  5. That's an interesting idea! I might try this myself as I spend way too much money on things I don't even use after swatching them at home.. the downsides of blogging hehe. On the other hand I can't even think of one makeup product I've finished but mascara cause I own soooo much makeup! Really impressed by your endurance though :) xx

    1. Thanks lovely... Yea it was difficult. Foundations are really easy to finish as well though I've noticed, blush and bronzer seems impossible! I know how you feel, I buy things just because they look pretty even if I don't really need them :) xx

  8. I totally agree that it teaches us discipline. I had no idea that Laura came up with it! I don't think I have ever seen her YouTube videos even though I absolutely love her blog! Will look for them now...

There is nothing quite as satisfying to me as finishing up a makeup product! I recently used up my TheBalm Sexy Mama anti-shine powder and it has opened the door to many! <3
