August Favourites

Hello Lovelies,
I hope you've all had a lovely weekend. Can't believe it's September already. This year has gone so quick, X- Factor has started again, so that means summer's over and it's nearly time for Christmas again. Arghhh!

This is my first ever August Favourites. I hope you enjoy it. Lemme know what you think of it, and if you've done an August favourites please link it in the comments at the bottom so I can check it out!

Ok, so let's start:
A product I've loved in August (and used up!) is the Garnier Pure Energy Pure Active Face Wash.
It's a new product Garnier have recently bought out, and it's amazing! It smells fruity and fresh, without being sickly sweet. They say this is for oily skin prone to imperfections and that it contains extracts of pomegranate, grapefruit and vitamin C.Not bad for £3-£4!

I wouldn't say my skin is oily, but it is definitely prone to imperfections and I'm still getting spots at the ripe old age of 31.

This left my skin clean, without drying it out. It's not expensive either and I'll definitely buy it again!

The next product I've loved is the Lee Stafford Dehumidifier. I actually love all Lee Stafford products. They're not too expensive, quite often on offer at Boots and they smell amazing!

My hair is naturally curly, but they are sort of frizzy horrible wavy kind of curls. It straightens really easily, but as soon as it's rainy, humid or hot it starts to frizz up and I begin to look like I rammed my fingers into an electric socket. Not a good look! Anyway, this product really does what it says, which is to keep your hair straight and frizz free. It doesn't dry your hair out either, or leave it feel sticky.

As we had a few really hot days in August, I've found that my MAC Fix Plus has come in really handy. I have a strange relationship with this product. I go months without using it, then I rediscover it again. I don't think using Fix Plus makes my make up stay on any longer than it would if I didn't use it.

But I love using this when it's really hot. I hate it when it's boiling and your make up begins sweating off. Pretty gross I know, but I used this to refresh my make up throughout the day when it was really hot. I spray 1 or 2 pumps on my face, wait for it to dry then re-powder my face. Fix Plus really freshens up your make up nicely. I hate it when it's hot and you have to powder your face all the time, but using this product means you need to powder your face less often, and it leaves your make up looking natural, not like you've caked on layers and layers of make up!

Another MAC product I've been loving this month is their Mocha blush. It's a browny blue toned matt pink blush. It looks really boring and dull in the pan, but when you apply it, it gives you a really natural pretty colour on your cheeks. I think I wore it every day thoroughout August!

I love all of my Real Techniques brushes, but I was never too sure about their Brow Brush. I always thought it's a bit too thick to be any good for filling in your brows, but actually it's amazing! It's so easy filling in your brows using this brush. I think maybe cos it's quite thick, you have to apply less strokes on your brows to have them looking neat and groomed. The eyeshadow I've used this brush with is MAC Mystery, but I'm sure any eye powder eye shadow (doesn't have to be MAC) would work. This brush definitely deserves a spot in my monthly favourites, and I'm sure I'll carry on using it cos none of my other brow brushes or eyebrow pencils are as good or easy to work with! The shape and thickness of the bristles on this brush really do the work for you!

This isn't a beauty or make up product, but I've been loving the Belvita Breakfast bars lately. If you've not tried them pick them up next time you're in your local supermarket, they are so yum! There are 2 types of these biscuits, the ones with filling and the ones without. I prefer the ones with the filling. The plain biscuits are really nice too, but I find they don't keep me full till lunch. I usually have breakfast at my desk at work (it takes me long enough to paint my face every morning, don't wanna have to get up even earlier to have breakfast). I'll have one packet of these (there's 2 breakfast bars in  a packet) as well as a banana in the morning at about 8am and it keeps me going till 12 when I have my lunch. They come in 2 flavours (Plain and Honey) and both flavours are really nice! (And 119 calories per bar).

Last, by no means least, I'd like to introduce my little kitten Billie for those of you who haven't seen me tweet pics of her yet. Billie is 5 months old (she was born on the 9th of April). Her hobbies include eating flies, picking out food from the bin and sitting in toilet bowls. I am hoping this will change with time, but she's so much fun and she loves to play! I'm getting her spayed this month. Do any of you have pets? Let me know, I love animals, especially cats and dogs! And Billie should probably be in my favourites every month what do you think?

Anyways, I hope you've all have a lovely weekend and enjoyed this post. I can't believe I've almost got 20 followers now! Thank you so much to everyone that's following me, it really means so much to me!
