Clarins Haul

Clarins Haul
Hey Lovelies,
So payday came on Friday and it wasn't a day too soon. Even though I am going to try not to spend too much money this month, I did definitely need some new skincare. So far my skin type has always been combination. I had an oily T-zone but my skin was normal pretty much everywhere else. Lately however my skin has become very dehydrated. It also feels very tight at times, and that's something I'm not used to. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older, or the products that I have been using,  but something is drying out my skin, so I really needed to invest in some skincare for dry and dehydrated skin. After some research I decided to stick with a skincare brand that has aways worked really well for me, and that is Clarins. Here's are the things I picked up from my local Clarins counter. I am really hoping these products will help sort out my dehydrated skin!
Clarins Cleansing Milk with Alpine Herbs, Normal or Dry Skin
In the mornings I have been relying on Micellar waters to cleanse my skin, which probably isn't very good for my skin, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's contributed to my skin becoming so dehydrated. I decided to pick up the Clarins Cleansing Milk for normal to dry skin. This cleanser has a rich and creamy consistency. It feels lovely and cooling when I apply it to my face. After gently patting it into my skin, I soak a cotton pad in toning lotion and use it to gently wipe the cleansing milk off. My skin feels lovely and smooth after cleansing now, and I certainly won't be using Micellar solutions as part of my morning skincare routine anymore.
The next product I picked up is the Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum, which has been formulated to restore your skin's natural hydration mechanisms. It comes in a lovely bottle which you shake up before using. I am using this serum in the morning after cleansing but before my moisturiser. It feels very lightweight, absorbs quickly into my skin and isn't greasy at all. I've only been using this product for a few days but so far I really like it, and I am hoping it will help improve the way my dehydrated skin looks and feels in the long term.   Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil for Dehydrated Skin
I had a sample of the Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil, and after using the product for about a week I decided to purchase the full size. This oil is made up out of 100% pure plant extracts which include rosewood and blue orchid (as the name suggests). It has been formulated to tone and restore radiance to dehydrated skin, which is exactly what I need!
Rosewood, Patchouli and Blue Orchid

I'll be honest I was never keen on the idea of using an oil on my face, as I was worried it would be too greasy, but the Clarins Blue Orchid Oil really surprised me. You can either use it on its own as an intensive overnight treatment, or mix it in with your regular nighttime moisturiser. As my skin is very dehydrated, I am going to use the Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil by itself every evening for about a month. Hopefully after this time, my skin will have improved and I will be able to use it together with my moisturiser.
Well, that's it for my little Clarins haul. I hope you've enjoyed this post! What are your favourite Clarins products?

A very small haul...

Hey Lovelies,
I hope you're all well! I've got today off work as I'm working this weekend. I've spent the morning racking my brains about what to blog about but just can't think of anything, so I rather than not post anything on here at all I thought I'd share with you a new top and necklace which I recently bought. I know I posted a clothes haul quite recently, but I've had a massive wardrobe clear out this month, so I've been buying quite a lot of new clothes to replace everything I donated to charity. I think every once in a while everyone should clear out their wardrobe. I had clothes in mine that I've not worn in over 3 years, so it was high time I finally got rid of them!
Anyway, I digress. Last week I went into River Island looking for a new statement necklace, but I couldn't find any that I really liked. However I came across this gorgeous silver foil print top that I knew I'd get lots of wear out of. It's a lose-fitting top that looks amazing with black or blue skinny jeans and high heels or Chelsea boots. You can probably even wear it with leggings, and I think it's the perfect addition to my spring/summer wardrobe. The top is quite simple, making it very easy to dress up with some chunky jewellery.
As I couldn't find any necklaces in River Island that took my fancy, I headed down to H&M. Everyone loves a bit of H&M, everything is very affordable yet still great quality, and I picked up this necklace for £7.99. I couldn't find it on the H&M website but I only bought it the other week so it should still be available at your nearest H&M store. I actually think it goes quite nicely with my River Island top haha!
Well that's it for my very small haul. Tomorrow is finally payday which I'm so excited about as I'm completely skint and have been for the past week or so. Better budgeting is definitely needed for April on my part!
I hope you've enjoyed this post, and if you've found any recent gems on the high street let me know in the comments below!

Essie Angora Cardi NOTD

Essie Angora Cardi nail polish
Hey Lovelies,
I hope you're all well and that you've had a great weekend! My weekend off is sadly nearly over. I had a pretty relaxing Sunday and even managed to get myself down the gym. I've also just painted my nails, so I thought I'd take a few pictures and do a little NOTD post for you. The colour I am wearing today is Essie's Angora Cardi. It's a lovely shade which Essie describe as a creamy, deep dusty rose. I'd say is definitely more of a purple shade than anything else, and I always feel that my nails look quite sophisticated when I have it on haha!

I picked this up at Boots the other week while they were running one of their amazing 3 for 2 promotions. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who can never resist adding to their Essie nail polish collection whenever they are on 3 for 2! Out of all the nail polishes I've tried, Essie ones last the longest on my nails. This is why I tend to stick to Essie when it comes to nail polish.

So here you can see the nail polish on my nails. I hope you like it! As you can see, it's a rather lovely and very wearable purple-brown shade. I can't even begin to explain how difficult it was trying to get a decent picture while balancing my camera in one hand and the nail polish in the other! Next time, I think I'll use my phone if I'm taking a picture of my nails, it's certainly a lot easier than using a bulky camera!
What's your favourite Essie nail colour?

The Furry Friend Tag

Hey Lovelies,
Hope you're all well and having a great weekend! I've finally got a weekend off which I'm so excited about. Unfortunately I'm completely skint though, so I won't be doing any fun stuff (like spending money). Instead I will be going down the gym and blogging, which isn't that bad either I suppose haha!
Yesterday the lovely Shona from FreshBeautyXOX tweeted me and asked me to do the Furry Friend Tag. I love animals and whenever anyone blogs about their pets I always read the post, so as soon as I saw Shona's post I knew I had to do the tag too! Here are all the questions and my answers. Enjoy ☺
1. What is your pets name?
My pet is called Billie.
2. When did you get Billie?
I got Billie when she was 8 weeks old in June 2012.
3. What is something that Billie does that annoys you?
The only thing that Billie does that really annoys me is that she likes to go roaming. If I let her out in the garden, she doesn't just stay in the garden. She likes to go for a wander and I panic a bit when I look out of the window and can't see her. Having said that, she is a really good cat and when I call her, she does return, but I would still prefer it if she didn't roam.
4. What type of breed is Billie?
Billie is a random bred domestic medium hair cat. A lot of people ask if she's a pedigree when they meet her because she looks quite posh, but she really is just a moggie.
5. Has Billie ever had a near death experience?
Thankfully Billie has not had a near death experience. One time however she did get stung by a bee and her paw swelled up massively. I called the vet who advised me to give her half a Piriton tablet which I did and the swelling went down after about 2 days. I felt sorry for her, even though she did look quite funny with her swollen paw!
6. Does Billie know any tricks?
No not really; she's not a dog.
7. Does Billie like to snuggle?
No Billie doesn't like to snuggle and she is certainly no lap cat. She'll come and cuddle up next to me for a stroke in the morning, but that's about as far as it goes and everything always has to be on her terms.
8. Where did you get Billie?
I used to work with a girl whose cat had kittens. My cat Jessie had died the year before, and I had no intentions of getting another cat. Actually I really want a dog. However, I did go around to my colleagues house to look at the kittens. Billie has the exact same white markings (white paws and a white bib) which my cat Jessie had, which is why I decided to adopt Billie.
9. Does Billie get along with other cats?
Yes Billie gets along with other cats. Billie actually gets along with everyone, she's so friendly!
10. Does Billie get along with strangers?
Again, yes. I have yet to meet anyone Billie doesn't like.
11. How much does Billie weigh?
No idea. Less than me that's for sure anyway.
12. Do you ever dress Billie up?
No, I think dressing up pets is stupid. (No offence).
13. Has Billie ever tried to run away?
Last summer she snuk out of the window one night and didn't come back till the next morning. We always keep her indoors at night so she wasn't supposed to do that. When she returned, she was limping and had obviously hurt her paw on her adventure, so we took her to the vet. Luckily it was just a sprain and she hadn't broken anything.
11. How did you come up with Billie's name?
I live with my brother and he chose the name as part of the deal of getting another cat. He says she's named after the Michael Jackson song Billie Jean, so God only know what he'll call his children.
12. How much does Billie mean to you on a scale of 1-10?
10/10.
I hope you've enjoyed reading this post and finding out more about Billie! Thanks again Shona for tagging me, and if you're a pet owner, I'd love it if you did this post too (in particular if you own a staffie...)

Collective Clothes and Shoes Haul

Hey Lovelies,
Hope you're all well and having a good start to the week. Today's post is going to be a clothes haul for you all. I don't think I've done a clothes haul in over a year! Last week however I decided to go through everything in my wardrobe and threw out all the clothes which I haven't worn in years. I think this spring clean was long over due because I ended up getting rid of a large bin bag full of clothes. Obviously I have decided to replace the clothes which I donated to my local charity shop with some new ones, so I went shopping and here's what I bought.
The first shop I went to was Topshop because they have a petites section and I always seem to find dresses I like in there. I picked up this cute little daisy print dress which I think is perfect for spring! I am planning to wear this dress with black pumps and a black cardigan until the weather warms up a little more.
I also picked up 2 jumpers from Warehouse. Out of all the shops I went to on my shopping trip, I actually thought Warehouse had the nicest selection of clothes! This grey top wasn't available in my size so I got a size 10, which I think still looks ok as it's supposed to be an oversized top anyway. I think this top is quite versatile as it can be worn with leggings and Uggs for a casual look, or it can be dressed up with skinny jeans, heels and some statement jewellery.
The other top I got from Warehouse is this jumper which I really like because it looks great with jeans and it isn't too woolly or warm, making it perfect for this time of year! I will be wearing this top with jeans, but it could also be easily teamed with black trousers and heels for a smart/casual office look.
Finally I went shoe shopping. Last week Aldo had £20.00 off all their boots. Naturally I took advantage of this and treated myself to this pair of flat ankle boots. These shoes are so comfortable! Originally I wanted to get a new pair of Uggs as my old Uggs have seen better days, but with the weather finally getting a little warmer I thought this pair of boots from Aldo would be a better option. Uggs are still on my shopping list though haha as I definitely need a new pair!
I also invested in a new pair of pumps which I got from Clarks. Clarks shoes are so comfortable and these pumps are no exception. What I like about Clarks shoes is that they also do half sizes. I know I will be getting a lot of wear out of these pumps this spring and summer!
Well, these are all the bits I bought over the last week or so. As you can probably imagine I am quite skint right now, so roll on payday when I will be buying more clothes because there's quite a lot of stuff I need to replace in my wardrobe after my massive clearout. Any excuse haha!
Have you bought clothes or shoes lately? What did you get?

Let's get involved and #MakeoverTheWorld!

 #MakeoverTheWorld RSPCA Campaign
Hey Lovelies,
Hope you're all well and that you've had a great week! I'm sorry it's been a bit quiet on my blog, but I have been pretty busy with work so I have not had time to post much lately. I am also working this weekend, but I have just found out about an amazing and fun campaign the RSPCA are running that I really want to share with you lovelies!
I know lots of beauty bloggers are also animal lovers like me. The 11th of March is the one year anniversary of the ban on sales of cosmetics newly tested on animals in the EU. The RSPCA are now pushing cosmetic companies to end the practise around the world with their 'Makeover the World' campaign.
Supporters (and beauty bloggers like you and me!) of this campaign are encouraged to give themselves a fun makeover and share it on social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook etc) using the #makeovertheworld hashtag, This is to show cosmetic companies that we want the practise of testing beauty products on animals to end. You can also make your own sign to go with the campaign message 'Stop Animal Testing for Cosmetics Worldwide'. If you pictures include any cosmetic products, please make sure that the make up brand is hidden. Remember to use the #MakeoverTheWorld hashtag when posting your pictures so the RSPCA can find and share them as part of the campaign.
For more information on the campaign, please click here
The #MakeoverTheWorld campaign launches on the 11th of March, and I really hope as many of us as possible will join in with this campaign. Don't forget to leave me your link in the comments if you're taking part! Thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing your #MakeoverTheWorld looks. Hopefully together we can make a difference and end animal testing for cosmetics products worldwide.
